Different way of Looking at the SB and Brady

Look I'm ok with getting roasted for this take and I'm cool with it but a few things I had to put into perspective with the game.

1) Lets say you just switch QB's for that game and everything else is the same. What is the score? Bucs 49 Chiefs 0? or 3? Brady did nothing great, just did what he needed to do and their running game was very good and they won. Brady won the game but it wasn't because he was amazing at what he did, just managed enough and we sucked enough ( plus the fun calls from the refs) to not win.

2) Brady because of his Hardware is considered the GOAT by most but I still struggle to see what he does that is so amazing? I mean he is competitive, almost a competitive prick which is good, you could say he is a good leader, but watching him play football is just like watching snow melt, he NEVER does anything that makes your jaw drop. In NE he has been apart of a team that had amazing defenses and last night was the same.

You could have put about 20 QB's on Tampa's team last night and won the game if we only score 9 points, Brady was just one of many that would have won that game.

Brady is a good QB but not amazing, nothing about him screams greatness except his rings and that may be enough for most people. For me it wasn't even close, the MVP was the Buc's Defensive line and it wasn't even close.

For me Jordan is the best ever but if it was just rings alone then Bill Russell is the best.

I give Brady his due much a lot of his "greatness" comes from being on the right team at the right time.

Get a grip, guys...he's great.
Cherry picking much? Luck and refs play a part for him to have that much success but he is great nevertheless. Longevity and discipline are the keys.

I guess I should have put "and then" between step 2 and 3 for the simple minded.

Park it in a garage "and then" drive it over the Grand Canyon?
How is that better? Am I parking or am I driving?
How long am I parking? Why am I parking in a garage first at all?
It seems like an unnecessary step.

To get the proper fix of Carbon Monoxide poisoning in case you aren't the type to follow through.

For the real go getter, yes an unnecessary step. I don't see that as a problem for you.

That post of yours was a real train wreck, I think we can all agree on that.

Trains don't really have carbon monoxide poison problems and I'm not aware of any railroad tracks crossing the grand canyon.

I recommend you double down on my previous suggestion.

Brady is just the GOAT in the eyes of people who consider him that. Just like the Jordan /Lebran argument on who is the Goat . It’s strictly an opinion based on whatever facts you believe to be important to you . So I think if the Chiefs drafted Brady we would have won any super bowls ? No, not because he isn’t good but because we had good quarterbacks before and had good defenses but never as good as the pats defense .

Of course he had luck and he is a solid B quarterback but show me a team that he carries on his back that had a below average defense and lackluster offense ?????????

He has been on very good teams .

Everyone has their own definition of the “GOAT”

Mine is 90%accomplishments and 10% special/wow moments that you never forget

Brady grades out for me at a 90% best for accomplishments and 0% for special and I don’t consider his mental as special I group that into accomplishments at 90%.

The NFL and record books give the highest rewards and accolades to those with the greatest success on the field with most wins and fewest losses, generally in the playoffs and specifically in Superbowls.

In the NFL, there is no equal, ever.

Tom Brady never had the best arm, the fastest sprint or the strongest body. All he does is win, all, the, ****ing, time.

As a Chief's fan I hate him because what he has done to us but I would never even think to say he isn't impressive.

That's a moronic statement.

Kinda like:
Thomas Edison wasn't very smart.
Michaelangelo did an OK job at the Sistine Chapel.
Tiger Woods only gets recogniton because he is black.
The Beatles were just another pop band in the right place at the right time.
This guy gets it, whereas 90+% of the rest of you are typical message board home boys. I get it, loving the home team creates huge ****ing blind spots, but many here take it to another level.

Well said, scho63.

Brady is definitely not overrated.

His football IQ is off the charts. He takes care of his body. He's an extremely hard worker. He's a great leader. He knows how to get into ppls heads. He demands a high level of performance from his teammates and he has a great ability to get along w all different types of people..

You can say 'if you switch QBs' first of all Brady is way older than Mahomes so unfair comparison. Reid didnt build offense w Brady's strengths in mind he built it for Mahomes. Who knows if Mahomes is even in the NFL at Brady's age much less winning SBs.

Brady plays to win not for stats and that's how it should be. No the loss shouldn't be held against Mahomes too much but we shall see how things go rest of Mahomes career. I'm obviously rooting for him and i think he can eclipse Brady but he's got a long way to go and to act like Brady is overrated is ridiculous.

Yea I guess that's where opinions play into everything.

And again if we are only giving the title of GOAT in a team sport to the person who has the most Rings, Trophies etc then Russel is head and shoulders better than Jordan correct? I mean in basketball there are only 5 playing on the court vs. 22 players you have in basketball.

I watched the SB for the third time and there is zero way you could convince me that Brady would have scored more than 3 points with that much pressure, with only 4 D lineman and his WR dropping as many as ours did. Absolutely zero chance.

I think the score would be 45-3, 45-0 but the Buc's TEAM beat us as Brady being a JAG in the game. I watched every throw he had and they were "fine" nothing special and certainly nothing that 20 other QB in that spot couldn't easily throw.

This game was about Coaching and Defense dominance .

After watching the throws both QB's made in the game especially given the circumstances it made me even more convinced that Mahomes is head and shoulders better than Brady. Brady couldn't make half of the throws Mahomes made in that game.

Look I'm not trying to Bash Brady, just saying he is more of a coach now with a fine arm, sort of Steve DeBerg esc.

GOAT for only trophies, then yes, he and Russel, and Jack Nicklaus best golfer by far, Yogi Berra best MLB player, etc etc. the vast majority of athletes in their sport with the MOST titles are not considered the GOAT.

Mahome's is SO much better than Brady it isn't even close, not even when Brady was in his prime. He has just had a better team period. I think its clear that Mahome's is the GOAT from all the games I've seen. Best player I've ever seen with my own eyes.
