Fisher to LT?

@AdamSchefter: Chiefs HC Andy Reid said he plans to go to camp this summer with former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher playing left tackle.

Sorry if Q

He's an athletic guy. He was a scrawny 2* prospect coming out of high school. It's entirely likely he's NOT DONE growing.

He played against mid-tier competition in the MAC.

There are plenty of reasons to believe he can get A LOT better.

It's just really concerning how badly he played at times last year.

Did it ever occur to Sandy and the other bozos like him that maybe people like it here BECAUSE the board's majority mindset has always been the exact opposite of the people in that true fan gif?

You can't say the same for personal appearance, but majority mindset? Absolutely.
Only thing I'd add: You left out "savvy."

I've learned a LOT about football from being part of this forum. People who are skeptical tend to require proof and dive into analysis and facts pretty intensely. That requires research and clear communication of it. And for those that are less skeptical, when they research to back UP their more optimistic posts, they sometimes see truths they otherwise would not.

The best thing about this forum is that sunshine and rainbows "I think it will work because they're my team and I WANT it to work" takes are, at best, seen for what they are (hope) and, at worst, made fun of as homer posts.

How those takes are perceived is based on who says it and how they say it. And, I suppose, how unrealistic they are.

That's a good thing. This fan community doesn't spend much time lying to itself ... or at least it tries not to.

I agree. In all honesty, despite 30+ years watching the NFL and the Chiefs, I have a hard time evaluating the intricacies of OL play, other than blown up plays...which any idiot can see are bad. But from what I have read, he has good feet...but lacked the strength.

He also was facing elite pass rushers for really the first time in his life. Neither in high school nor college did he face the type of big, strong, fast guys with a full range of moves and counter moves to get to the passer that he did last year.

I AM glad they took Fisher over Joeckel because Fisher's upside is at least higher.

And I do think there are some reasons to be HOPEFUL that Fisher can improve more with time and be a better fit at LT.

Just like I think there are also just as many, if not more, reasons to be skeptical of the wisdom of handing Fisher the LT job this year, considering what happened last year.

I understand the call for a meritocracy, but perhaps AR sees him working and sees it as the best move... rather than simply a capitulation to fisher's draft position.

Thought this was funny given what MCAJ22 said above. This quote below is from the niners message board in a thread talking about the possibility of bringing back Brandon Lloyd.

"Pathetic. Its clear that this franchise just wants to contend for the SuperBowl and not Win it. SMH...."

Front office conspiracy theories are not unique to KC. No one is ever satisfied except on the rare years in which their team wins the super-bowl. As rare as it is to win the superbowl, it's a wonder the NFL has any fans at all.

**disclaimer. Nothing in this post was meant to offend, or in any way slander the good people of Kansas City or the obviously passionate fans of the KC Chiefs.

Hope that's the case.

Need to see it happen first before I BELIEVE it's the case.

That's a clear case of 49er fans being SPOILED.

The one thing a Kansas City (Chiefs or Royals, take your pick) fan will NEVER be.

Same here.

When I first showed up in 2002, I was young and full of hopes and dreams, and my posting style was far more something you might read from Halfcan instead of milkman. We had Dick ****ing Vermeil as our head coach! We were struggling, but Priest Holmes was our new badass, Eddie Kennison had come aboard and hated the Donks more than we did, and we were just about to draft Ryan Sims! And Snoop Minnis was totally going to turn the corner from his rookie year. And Sylvester Morris had finally gotten healthy from his disastrous knee injury in 2000, so he would surely be contributing in great ways. It was going to be okay!

I learned pretty quickly not to take this team too seriously on this place. I think it was an early free agency thread where Keenan McCardell had just become a cap casualty of the Jaguars. There was some demand to bring him onto the team, but the rumors were that Carl was on vacation. I made the mistake of saying, "Hey guys, just cool it, okay? The team is obviously doing the best it can. We've already got some good pieces and can find Keenan McCardells anywhere." Then he signed for chump change with the Chargers.

Giant shit storm. I had never seen anything like it. Of course that one was mild compared to the other meltdowns this forum has seen throughout the years, but I did learn from that moment on that it was okay and healthy to feel disenfranchised when you were a fan of a team that couldn't do very much right at all.

It was only a few years later that I joined the Repost Police, AIDS tree patrol, and changed my last name to "Bastard". And you know what? It felt good. Really good.

This place has been overrun by posters that wandered over after ChiefsCoalition shut down.

That place was a huge homer circle jerk and all these n00bs coming here from there can't stand the objective point of views offered by the best posters on CP and the sheer volume of foolish posters arguing to try and make this place like the Coalition has taken the standard here down a notch or two because a lot of those quality posters have simply walked away.

It's a real shame.

He's can't be any worse.

Now will he stay healthy or is he actually motivated to play football as one anonymous Internet poster has suggested is the question.
