Shareece Wright is a really clever, intelligent corner out of USC. After taking a player in the third on the lower end of the IQ spectrum, the Ravens opt for a player on the other end of the spectrum in the fourth.
The Ravens are damn near bankrupt at corner, so the value makes sense. The Baltimore Ravens select CB Shareece Wright, USC. |

Julius Thomas, TE, Portland State
I selected Tony Moeaki for them with a comp 5th in last years draft but since that was only a mock and they still have nobody real good to step in when Tony G steps down, this kid is about the perfect prospect for the situation. Basketball backround, damn good hands and seems to move well. A year or two to learn the intricacies of the position from Tony as well as hopefully learning what it takes to have a sustained career in the NFL and what kind of work it takes to do so and this kid could be a player. I know I may have reached/gambled a bit with this pick, but if it works out it would end up being a huge steal. Hamas' Patriots are on the clock |

Holy shit, I can't believe this guy fell to me.
The New England Patriots select Kendric Burney, CB, North Carolina. He was a damned good corner his first three years and he dominated the Sr. Bowl practices. He's a bit undersized, but at the very least, he's a tremendous nickel back.

I've had a shitkicker of a day, and don't feel like going into detail over the pick.
The Jets select: Chris Carter, OLB, Fresno State |

My draft is past half over.
The Texans: 1. DE/DT Nick Fairley, Auburn 2. OLB Brooks Reed, Arizona 3. CB Brandon Burton, Utah 4. NT Kendrick Ellis, Hampton The Ravens: 1. DE/DT J.J. Watt, Wisconsin 2. OT Joseph Barksdale, LSU 3. WR Niles Paul, Nebraska 4. CB Shareece Wright, USC I think the Texans draft is one of the best in this mock. The Ravens, I think, would qualify as above average. |

The Pittsburgh Steelers stick to their board and are quite happy to select Nate Irving ILB North Carolina State University.

I made my pick for the Texans pretty late last night. Went to work today, confident I'd get home and probably have to make a pick by midnight tonight. I get home in the late evening, and I have TWO messages in my box telling me to make my pick. It had been my turn for six hours. That is just incredible pacing. The CP Mock has hit its stride the past couple years. |

OT is the only major need not that has yet to be addressed by the Packers. They're long in the tooth with Clifton, and Bulaga is getting there but needs more help. They asked TJ Lang to move over in the playoffs when Clifton was down and hoooo boy was that ever a shit show.
Luckily there's a nice small pool of available tackles appropriate for this spot. Most of them are highly athletic roadgraders but without much fluidity. The Packers decide to go the opposite route. Here's a guy who's athletic and highly mobile. He has the reputation of being "soft" and "not a leader". But it's not like the potential isn't there, or the effort for that matter. I would call him more "finesse" rather than "soft". But the physical tools are all there. I think in a year he might even be the starter at LT over Bulaga, who started on the right side halfway through the season and into the playoffs. The Green Bay Packers select James Brewer, OT, Indiana At the rate we're going, we could probably have time to do a re-draft of the first round if everybody was cool with that. Another round done. i just said that last night. Way to move this along, guys! |
