Keep f***ing doubting Alex Smith

The title of the thread says it all....

**** you doubters. He plays with heart, and he continues to get the job done. You people who bash Alex, I don't even consider true fans. He plays his heart out every week, and you continue to bash him...

Keep bashing him, I'll keep backing him.

This is what it comes down to for me with Ryan.

Brady, Rodgers, Manning and to a lesser extent, Brees, has never had this type of losing season. All of those guys have had injuries, issues but they all managed to keep their teams near .500 or better despite all the shit luck.

Ryan can't do that. He doesn't elevate his team around him. I think the team elevates him. Brady throwing to Aaron Dobson and Kimbrell Thompkins for half a year still resulted in a 7-2 record.

Ryan is a nice QB, but he should be closer on the payscale to Rivers than he is Aaron Rodgers.

Yes, seems his passes are right on the money. Sometimes I wonder if Alex over thinks things. Decisiveness seem to be the key w/ these QB's at this level.

Time will tell.

I think both of those deals were needed costs.

What was Atlanta supposed to do? Let Matt Ryan walk and pray a quarterback fell to them that could start right away and keep the team winning? They were on the cusp of the superbowl...

How about Baltimore? Were they supposed to finally win a superbowl...have their quarterback go on a historic playoff run and win the MVP award only to let him walk and
hope a quarterback fell to them at 32 that they could save a few bucks on?

I think it's beyond silly how so many here defend Alex Smith for all his shortcomings...but tear down guys like Flacco and Ryan at all costs.

Anyone really "tearing them down" though? Seems all they are saying is that they are overpaid for what they are bringing.. and that can hurt the team they want to win with... which can be a fair opinion. You are right that these teams had little choice but to lock up these QBs.

Know what is even more silly? ( and no, not saying you ).. Many KC fans will take every opportunity to "tear down" their own QB... dismiss every "excuse" for their QB... but then defend and lift up every other QB in the league with excuses...with exception to their own.

Alex Smith compares unfavorably to the top half of this league's QBs.

There's no ground for him to stand on.

Just speaking for myself, but I know what Alex Smith is. He has to absolutely have everything around him going pretty well for him to succeed, if not going great around him.

But, he's also not being paid like those 2 guys. With those contracts come certain expectations. If Smith were getting what those guys are, I absolutely would expect him to carry a squad. But he can't, and it's looking like those two can't either.

It's too soon to say one way or another.

If I'm a Gm and I'm paying a guy a contract like that, he needs to be able to elevate the players around him and win when things arent perfect.

I can name 10-15 other QBs who would be 9-0 with this defense.

Difference is...we wouldn't be 24th on offense, 28th in passing yards, 30th in yards per attempt and 27th in TD passes.

For ****'s sake, the Bills have the 24th ranked defense and they just held us to 210 total yards!!!! It was their best game of the year!

... and every one of your names would still be wild conjecture on your part. Whereas, Alex doing it with this flawed team is... reality.

He was playing what I would consider acceptable for a stretch and now he has regressed imo. He needs to get it together. He's got 6 more days to do it in my mind.
I said I would give him till week 12 to have the O running at full blast. My confidence is dying. He has a chance to win me over the next three weeks, otherwise I'm off the train.
I'm not asking for huge stats. That's not gonna happen. I'm just asking for things he has to do keep winning the way he has in the past. His recent play is not gonna cut it.

Yeah, it's time to stop with this "Alex...is doing", "Alex...is winning" ****ing nonsense.

"Alex...is riding".

Yeah, there we go.
