Injuries:
Quote:
Wade Barrett suffered a serious arm injury catching Dolph Ziggler who was thrown over the top rope by Big Show during the main event Battle Royal on Raw.

You could see Barrett holding his right arm and furious immediately knowing he suffered a serious injury. An "X" was signaled and doctors rushed to the scene as the match went on. Making it worse, is that when Santino Marella was thrown over the top, he landed on Barrett's possibly broken arm. Ziggler was also hurt when his shoulder and arm crashed on the table and R-Truth needed help going to the back.

Kofi Kington was probably not hurt but when he was thrown out he had to change his trajectory to avoid Vickie Guerrero and had an ugly crash into the boards.

Cody Rhodes, who came into the match hurt from last night with a right thigh or hamstring injury, was limping badly and was hurt worse when he did a Disaster kick and the leg gave out. However he got up and had several more spots to do including play a hand in helping eliminate Show which allowed Jericho to win the match.

For those who missed it.....

and then this too......

In the first clip, you can clearly hear Barrett shouting obscenities immediately upon catching Ziggler. At the time I first saw it, that told me all I needed to know regarding whether that was a botched spot or not. For what its worth, it looked like there were quite a few bad landings during that Battle Royal. Tough luck.

Yeah it looked like an elbow. Really wasn't a point where the actual arm was in trouble. The elbow got bent backwards.

What was up with Taker getting "what'ed". Are you kidding me? Yeah he was off on the mic and the story line isn't everyone's favorite, but give me a break.

I thought they might do the best story line they could do with Taker/HHH but they aren't. Michaels guest ref, HHH wants him to help him and he does. As HHH goes for the pin Michaels has guilt, doesn't count. HHH yells and Michaels Super-Kicks him to even the match back out and leaves the ring.

Hell in the Cell is a decent twist atleast. Wish Taker had to do some "dark side" stuff to get HHH to agree. Whether it be fire, messing with HHH for a few weeks, or even screwing with Stephanie. "Where to, Stephanie?"

So for the first time in I can't remember how long, guys fighting for, among other things of course, the goddamn belt, which should be the biggest deal every week, closed the show. HHH and Taker got the middle of the show. Cena jerked the curtain. The champ and the new number 1 contender got the overrun. Exactly how it should be.

(I honestly thing that could do more for the company than anything else right now: making the titles meaningful again. Storylines are important, but it's so much easier to buy into things if people have real things to feud over. Just simple things, like "I'm better than you." You don't need Kane trying to get Cena to embrace Eve, I mean hate.)
Agreed completely. WWE Title needs to always be the focus of the show, especially when it's almost Mania and a guy who's as over as Punk has the belt. Punk-Jericho needs to close out every Raw from here on out, although I'm sure it won't with Rocky showing up next week...

I sincerely doubt this happens, but I hope they take a page from WM 18. They had Rock vs. Hogan, which was the equivalent of Rock vs. Cena, go on as the 3rd-to-last match of the night. Then the women's match, then the Jericho-HHH match for the Undisputed Title to close the show. Understandably, the belt meant a lot more back then, and they didn't build up Rock-Hogan for a year, but whatever. Punk-Jericho outta end the show.

Or just a lot of dumbassery. I don't understand why they do spots like that around the announcer's table when they could do the exact same spots in front of the ramp, especially when the stretcher/EMTs are out for a guy right there. Change the freaking spot to the other side of the ring.

Eh, far as I'm concerned, they bought a ticket & can react however they'd like. Is it that much different than people bringing laser-pointers & shooting them at his face during his entrances during the Attitude Era?

I can't believe they won't get HBK involved in this somehow, especially after Taker pulling the "Shawn's better than you" card last night.

I haven't been able to stand HHH for a long time and frankly am tired of Taker coming back for 1 match at Mania every year, but I'm excited to see HIAC with these 2. I have a feeling they'll kill each other trying to make it as brutal as they can, plus it has a decent story behind it (as opposed to "Hey, we have a PPV named Hell in a Cell. Uhhhh....").

I thought it was a really good Raw last night (save the first 10-15 minutes), and am excited to see what happens tonight, although I'll have to catch up after the fact.

And Bryan vs. Punk needs to main-event Mania one of these years.

This needs to happen again.

Vince should really consider moving the whole Elimination Chamber thing from before Wrestlemania to after Wrestlemania.

Yeah, it doesn't soundas bad. However, it takes longer for ligaments and tendons to heal than it does for a bone to heal.

Minus the Teddy/Laurinaitis aspect of the ending, I thought that was really well done with Punk/Bryan.

In Jericho's latest memoir, he talks about how he wishes Rock v Hogan would have gone on last. He says that the crowd was totally dead for the title match because they spent themselves during Rock/Hogan.

I really need to read Jericho's books. That makes sense about the crowd, I just like when the title match finishes the show, but that's just me.

Was Smackdown worth watching? Was watching bball & hockey instead.

Cena and Rock has to go on last. That's what people are paying to see. I got no problem with that, and I'm glad no title's involved there (doesn't need it).

Rare year where I like all the main events. Using last year as a guide, Danielson/Sheamus would open the show like Edge/Del Rio did for WM 27. Then Cody Rhodes and Big Show. Then the GM vs GM tag match. I'm not sure what this year's equivalent of Punk and Orton will be. Maybe that's the Kharma/Beth spot. Then taker/HHH HIAC. Something to cool the crowd needs to follow that. Then Punk and Jericho and then Rock and Cena.

Just a wild guess...

Pretty much a throw-away show last night, although the Punk/Danielson match was pretty great. I loved the ending of it, can't remember the last time I saw that. Perfect way to keep them both strong and to build the Longrenaitis feud.

For those interested here are some of the tweets (in the order they occured) Punk and Chris Brown were sending back and forth. Things is, I can't figure out if this is staged or not.....my gut says no, but I'm still unsure.

CM Punk - "I would like @chrisbrown fight somebody that can defend themselves. Me curb stomping that turd would be a #wrestlemania moment."

Chris Brown - "Positivity regardless of how u feel! @CMPunk contact my assistant and I'll have em send u an autographed pic for my biggest FAN!!!"

Chris Brown - "@CMpunk needs more followers. He’s such a leader! Not to mention the roids hes on has made it utterly impossible for him pleasure a women."

CM Punk - "twitvid.com/4CAPE - This must be said." (twitvid.com link is embeded below)

Chris Brown - "@CMPunk the video u just posted was cute! It's so funny how defensive u are."

Chris Brown - "And the fact that I really don't know who you are and could give a shit is the funny part!"

Chris Brown - "I miss the real wrestlers! ( Hacksaw Jim duggan, Brett the hitman heart, coco beware, rowdy roddy piper) #Notnopunks"

Chris Brown - "THE ROCK #Notnopunks"

Chris Brown - "Number one trend! IM DONE!"

Chris Brown - "We got them #Notnopunks tshirts on deck! Ask @TwonABMG and @Bighoodboss for yall sizes! Lol"

Chris Brown - “@Symbolic_1: Didnt CM Punk start wit @chrisbrown first tho?” : they need ratings bruh! I'm generous!"

Chris Brown - "Note:today will be the last day I bring @CMPunk existence up!The confrontations that people continuously bring my way are very amusing."

Chris Brown - "Cuz honestly, that shit is too time consuming to argue wit every person who has their own issues to deal with!"

CM Punk - "#aintnowomanbeater"
