The NBA Playoffs.

The East:

1 Celtics
8 Hawks
Celtics will sweep the crap out of the Hawks.

4 Cavaliers
5 Wizards
If Arenas is back in a groove, the Wizards are easily talented enough to make this work.

3 Magic
6 Raptors
The Magic would have struggled with the 76ers, but the Raptors match up poorly with them.

2 Pistons
7 76ers
76ers may pick off a game here.

The West:

1 Lakers
8 Nuggets
The Nuggets definitely had a shot with the Hornets -- but the Lakers offense will shred them.

4 Jazz
5 Rockets
The Rockets can't make any mistakes at home -- if they do, this series is over.

3 Spurs
6 Suns
Nightmare matchup for the Spurs. The Suns are built to beat them, and now they will.

2 Hornets
7 Mavericks
Both teams are relishing this matchup. The Hornets know the Mavs are vulnerable, and the Mavs know the Hornets could melt in the bright lights.

I am predicting no fewer than five Game Sevens, and while I think the Celtics are taking this sucker, the Western team I like the most is going to surprise you....

Winning championships makes you a great player. Keeping other great players from winning championships is legendary...and that's what MJ is/was.
You are ****ing high.

There weren't any great teams.
I have never seen the NBA so devoid of talent overall.

The NBA back then was the shit. The NBA now is devoid of TRUE talent. True meaning players aren't smart enough to put it all together.

You're just mad the Bulls beat Magic and the Lakers to start off their domination.

We've had this debate before, Cody, and as I've said before, I think you're a good guy, but on this subject you are, to be quite frank, an idiot.

I try watching the NBA playoffs every year, but that play did it for me... it's the first time I've ever seen both the offensive and defensive player flop on the same play.

The difference between the NBA and college is when LeBron James puts up some awkward looking sh*t to draw the foul, he'll make the shot, too. I hope CBB never loses it's integrity, which is why I hate players like Tyler Hansbrough so much.

Players aren't smart enough to put it together? That's why the Spurs and the Piston's win every year. No true superstar just great talented players playing together as one cohesive unit.

Actually, I think it's the other way around. The NBA needs to be gravitated towards a personality that can represent one team. Such as Jordan, Magic, Bird etc. Sure they had great sidekicks, but these guys were bigger stars than anybody on the Spurs or Pistons. People like to see one guy just completely dominate and win championships.

I don't think there is anything wrong with NBA basketball right now, just how public opinion downward spiraled into hating the NBA. NBA basketball is a joy to watch right now IMO

Here's the NBA's problem, the Spurs are a good team with 0 personality no casual fan is going to care about them and Tim Duncan they are just to boring there's no flash or flare, same thing with Detroit.

The best player in the league in Kobe Bryant is pretty widely hated, they tried to make Wade a star but now his team is awful and he's always injured.

Right now the leagues best hope at attractive the casual fan is Chris Paul and Dwight Howard.

Dwight Howard? Not a chance. He has a long way to go to become a dominant player that everyone is going to want to watch. And he also doesn't have the personality. He's a quiet guy. He's not Shaq, not in his playing ability nor in his personality. Big men are very rarely the type of player you are talking about, and Howard isn't any more exciting than Tim Duncan. Casual fans don't care about Dwight Howard.

And I don't know how you forgot about LeBron, the league's biggest superstar.

The NBA is hardly struggling though. Ratings for the regular season were up 20% this year. The playoffs haven't met expectations, but I don't know what the ratings are like.

Yeah you are right. Ratings so far are up in the NBA playoffs and in this regular season.

I was looking at the ratings and the regular season NBA and MLB games garner just about identical ratings. The World Series has seen it's ratings fall a ton the last 3 years. Last three years the ratings were between 10-11 on the nielson scale. NBA was between 6.2 and 9 I believe. If you take the Spurs out of the lineup, and see an NBA Final go to game 6 or 7 I really believe you are going to see ratings back up to 10 again.

And then you compare this to the Superbowl which gets like 50.0 nielson rating each year.

Yea, im pretty certain the league wants to see LeBron develop into that Jordan/Shaq level of superstardom where he trancends the league.
