GMDM is having a fine Black Friday. I thought we'd be lucky to just have him release Crow. To re-up with Frasor gives us nice depth behind HDH. And to actually GET players in return for Crow and save the arbitration $ is a double bonus.

Brian Flynn is intriguing. He's 6'7", 250 lbs. He's a LHP. He went to Wichita State.

Looks like he's got some really nice upside, but struggled in his brief stint in Miami. Hanging around Dave Eiland might do wonders for him. I like it.

He was pretty bad this year at AAA and got shelled in one start for the Marlins. He was a lot better last year. All of his appearances were as a starter. He was also once part of a trade that included Omar Infante.

The other guy had a good year at mostly A ball but he's also 26.

I will admit I thought AZ's payroll was low. It's not. League avg was 112 and they were right on the dot. They blew incredible amounts of cash on these turds:


1) Aaron Hill $11m (-0.7 WAR)
2) Miguel Montero $10m (1.2)
3) Cody Ross $9.5m (-1.2)
4) Bronson Arroyo 9.5m (0.5)


Surely whoever that GM is has already been fired, sued for malpractice, imprisoned and set for execution.

Just-added Marlins hurler Aaron Crow has worked from the bullpen for the last four seasons but could get a chance to return to a starting role in Miami, reports Juan C. Rodriguez of the Sun-Sentinel. “It’s still early in the offseason and we’re not sure how the rest of the offseason will unfold in terms of what else we add to our pitching staff, but we love the flexibility,” said president of baseball operations Michael Hill. “We love the thought he could possibly be a starting option for us, but at a minimum we know he’ll be a valuable bullpen piece and just add to the overall depth of our staff.”

Crow really wasn't that bad. He just had 3 dudes in the bullpen that rarely gave up anything. But with a loaded pen, he's expendable

His sulkyish comments during a charity event a few weeks back may have been the final straw for our ownership. Our FO isn't one who responds too well to even the suggestion of internal criticism.
