The NBA Playoffs.

The East:

1 Celtics
8 Hawks
Celtics will sweep the crap out of the Hawks.

4 Cavaliers
5 Wizards
If Arenas is back in a groove, the Wizards are easily talented enough to make this work.

3 Magic
6 Raptors
The Magic would have struggled with the 76ers, but the Raptors match up poorly with them.

2 Pistons
7 76ers
76ers may pick off a game here.

The West:

1 Lakers
8 Nuggets
The Nuggets definitely had a shot with the Hornets -- but the Lakers offense will shred them.

4 Jazz
5 Rockets
The Rockets can't make any mistakes at home -- if they do, this series is over.

3 Spurs
6 Suns
Nightmare matchup for the Spurs. The Suns are built to beat them, and now they will.

2 Hornets
7 Mavericks
Both teams are relishing this matchup. The Hornets know the Mavs are vulnerable, and the Mavs know the Hornets could melt in the bright lights.

I am predicting no fewer than five Game Sevens, and while I think the Celtics are taking this sucker, the Western team I like the most is going to surprise you....

You'd think this is the Celtics station we're watching.

I can't believe their hyping up a team that has had to go to a 7th game twice in a row to teams that have a combined record of 82-82 this year. If Cleveland were in the West they would have finished in 10th place and been 5 games behind the #8 seed(Denver).

The west isn't as good as it is billed. The playoffs is showing that those records don't really indicate how good a team is. All those 50 win lower seeds in the West were proven to be frauds. The playoffs have been evidence. When a 50-win team in the West looks like absolute garbage against another 50-win team in the West it certainly appears that the records aren't clear indicators of how competitive the teams are.

The Cavs are built for the playoffs unlike many of those western teams who don't play defense or rebound. Do you really think a team like Golden State could have taken Boston to 7 games? Do you really think Denver could have been up 2-1 on the Pistons? Do you really think a team like Atlanta or Philly wouldn't have won at least one game against the Lakers?

Whats not to beleive? Seriously, its easy for me to see how they can hype the Celtics on one end, and the Lakers on the other end. If Lakers/Celtics happen, David Stern will rub one out on the spot.

Great defense by Pierce on James so far.

If Atlanta can take Boston to seven, then anyone can take them to seven. Some of those teams in the West aren't as good as their record, but I would take the Lakers, Spurs or Hornets to beat any team in the East.

Any team? Detroit matches up perfectly with all of them, so does Boston. The Lakers still don't play defense or rebound. The Spurs are old and their offense is as awful as any team left in the playoffs. The Hornets are still inexperienced and don't matchup well with the teams left in the East. And Lets not forget Boston and Detroit would have home court.

Atlanta was just a horrific matchup for the Celtics. They were undersized, but they were young and incredibly fast and athletic. They were also very streaky, and could hit every shot from anywhere on the floor for a couple of those games.

The Cavs have just played solid defense, but they've dominated the Celtics on the boards. Add into the fact that the Celtics have NO outside threat at all because of Ray Allen struggling, so the Cavs haven't been spread out and they can clog the lane.

The Hawks series went to 7 for good reasons that I, as a Celtics fan, can live with. But this Cavs series should have been over in five games.

The Pistons are more and more of a nightmare matchup for the Celtics. Teyshawn Prince will give Pierce absolutely nowhere to go. Ray Allen will continue to struggle. If Wallace shows up to play strong defense, Garnett will struggle.

At this point I'd say the Pistons are favored. Billups is the only question mark.

I love Pierce's hunger.

You could read his lips just now -- "I'm not ready to come out, Doc."

Love it.

Thats true, but the Pistons biggest advantage is the size of their backcourt. Everyone talks about Sheed, but the Pistons goes where Billups takes them. He struggles against big guards and demolishes smaller ones. That might be Boston's biggest problem in terms of matchup, Rondo is too small to guard Billups. And Allen can't guard Hamilton either.

I don't know... West and Wally and Gibson are good outside shooters, and he's got perhaps the deepest front court in the NBA.

I think the coaching is the problem.
