I could see it happening but really 6-8 wins seems pretty doable.

AFC West

Broncos 12-4 (2): Could be better than 2013 team even if wins and offensive output dip. But schedule is murderous.

Chargers 8-8: Last year's schedule allowed late-season charge. This year's could easily produce late-season slide.

Chiefs 4-12: Tight salary cap meant crippling free agent defections, and they didn't sufficiently reload in draft.

Raiders 3-13: Best thing influx of over-the-hill vets can do is change culture. Carr, Mack promise brighter days ahead.

2013 felt slower than his recent past. Some of that was more designed roll-outs.
Some of that was learning a new offense.
2014 I'd expect quicker throws as he and the pass targets will be smoother at executing plays.
^ and this gets conveniently overlooked often to fit an agenda. It's easy to bet that in these new and unfamiliar schemes with underwhelming/unproven pass targets, Smith may have to decide against throwing when his intended target runs a wrong/sloppy route.

In year 2 under Harbaugh, the pass targets vastly improved with their understanding of the scheme... and Smith was.. what was it? top 3? top 5? best passer rating with a 6-2 record? He was getting the ball out quick and decisively.

It really doesn't work that way anymore.

QBs are getting the ball out too quickly against poor secondaries and great pass rushes.

This is why the Chiefs defense went to shit over the course of the last 7 games, and really started before that.

It really depends on the coverage called and the alignment offensively, since (generally speaking) so many teams have man calls to iso sides, especially in quarters.
