Still Might. If the Ravens win this week over the Bengals, the Browns are one back with the second round with the Bengals coming up......

Look at Matt Ryan, an extremely average qb, without Julio, without Roddy. It shows.

Look at Tom Brady minus Welker, Hernandez, and Gronk.

Now, you are talking about two qbs, who are BETTER than Alex Smith, playing like Alex Smith, with Alex Smith type weapons.

See MY point?

Everyone knew Alex Smith couldn't carry the Chiefs.

He damn sure cant carry the Chiefs as is. Hell he cant even make them average as is.
I think all of the critics agree with the bold; that's exactly why they don't like Alex Smith as a QB.

I can understand that, but I thought that i provided two pretty good examples of a HALL OF FAME qb, and a good qb in Matt Ryan who have struggled without weapons.

For Alex Smith to succeed, the Chiefs will have to load up the talent.

Can he sustain that? I don't know. But that's two games better than any performance Alex has had this year, and I don't believe the Browns offensive roster is collectively better than ours, or that the Browns offensive coaching staff is collectively better than ours.

I don't think "stupidity" has anything to do with the likelihood of the team retaining Smith. They gave up a pair of seconds for him, and they've started the year 9-0. They're not moving on from that. I'd be shocked if he doesn't get an extension this offseason, even if his play doesn't improve an iota in the last 7 games.

I'm sure the youth and system change on the offensive line, as well as the injuries at tight end, have played a role in Alex's performance. I also believe that, on that flip side, Alex's performance has had a detrimental effect on the performance of the wide receivers. Something which many of us expected, and are not, unfortunately, surprised to see.

I believe they actually have peopled the roster with competitive personnel, across the board. Including on offense. I think the group, as a whole, is underperforming, and I believe that Alex Smith is as responsible for that as anyone else.

Which is not, of course, in any way suggesting that he's solely responsible.
This.

If a ball-controlling stop-gap was ALL THAT WAS NEEDED, why give up so much for Alex "**** a comfortable lead" Smith?

I'll tell you why. It's a man-crush on a sub-par talent who has managed to ride the backs of greater talent to an all-time win record that would make Schottenheimer blush, while giving the True Fan/Red For Reid-crowd enough ammunition and false hope to go herp-derping about the Chiefs Kingdom with renewed belief in an overall Quarterback philosophy that has been proven for decades to be nothing but FAIL in Kansas City.

FAIL, MOTHER****ERS. DO YOU HEAR ME???

And mark my goddamned words:

That sub-par, herpy-derpy lookin' asshole WILL get his ****ing 5 year extension, it WILL keep us from acquiring premium talent, and this defense WILL BE selling cars from their respective dealerships before you see the Chiefs take on their next Quarterback FAIL Project.

Sorry bro. First of all, how are you?

Now, second of all, this shit is going down just about in lock step with how the 49ers built with Jim.

First year, rode a hell a fide defense and special teams, with just enough offense to stay afloat.

Second year, they beefed up the skill positions, addressed a problem spot on the oline and then when the moment was right made a qb switch.

There wasn't a contract extension given, and no reason unless the Chiefs win the super bowl to give one.

There are more important needs than addressing that one, and the Chiefs wont.

No sense to. The contract is too team friendly.

Just relax, enjoy the ride. Rome wasn't built in a day, just like a Chiefs losing culture wasn't fixed overnight.

This is NOT the same old Chiefs. If it was, Alex Smith would of been locked up from day one.

He is a stop gap care taker.

Andy knows this offense is garbage outside of Jamaal, and Bowe, and Albert.

He has forgotten more football than you and i have ever known. He was in Green Bay when they built, he was in philly when they rebuilt, and in both places they built the defense FIRST, remember, they signed Reggie White, and in philly, all those years they went to the nfccg, and then the super bowl, those were DEFENSIVE TEAMS.

Just relax man.

The fat mans got this, and his pal Dorsey is buying the groceries.

BELIEVE IN THE CHIEFS.

I told you that from the start.

You and your ilk were the ones too obsessed with the compensation given.

You, were the one who didn't believe me when I told you how good this defense was going to be.

I never promised you that Alex Smith was going to become Kurt Warner.

I promised you, that Alex would win.

And he will continue to do so, until Tyler Bray is ready.

I pointed it out to you, that how soon they cut stanzi in the preseason, that it was a tell tell sign of what Andy thought of him.

There was a plan in place.

They will upgrade the skill positions in the offseason, probably draft either a wr, or te, or fs, and if Alex doesn't severely take steps forward next year, to complete the passes he should be completing, like your said bubble screen, andy will replace him.

The Chiefs are not married to Alex Smith.

That's just not the point that you are willing to accept.
