Still think he can eval a QB?
That's a pretty poor guess unless Cassel agrees to take a huge paycut. He'll bring a much needed 5 million in cap space if he's cut.

A QB with a TD:TO ratio of 1:2 isn't fit to run ANY offense.

Dane what do you think of Manuel? After you called me out on him, I went and watched some clips of him, he actually is intriguing.

Also stumbled across nassib, wondering if you've seen him?

BTW, can it please be noted that I am not a Geno detractor. I was just asking questions (though they may be considered dumb, in the minds of some). If we draft the guy, I will support it whole-heartedly because Reid made the pick. And I will be ****ing ecstatic that this team finally found a guy who can lead this team into the playoffs and give us a great chance to win (which is essentially what all franchise QBs do).

I conceptualize it like this: Nobody thought Kaep would be a franchise QB, and it's looking like that may very well be the case with Harbaugh in SF. If Reid drafts Geno, my expectations will be the same. Great QB mind with a guy who has a high ceiling (in said great QB's mind) can be a deadly combination for years to come.

As I said earlier, Manuel is intriguing. He's certainly a guy I would not discount, especially at this stage of the game. If the 49ers win the Super Bowl, I think that there will be a lot of organizations that take a closer look.

I haven't seen Nassib. I live in SoCal, so Syracuse games are rarely shown, if ever. I have a newborn so the ESPN package would have been a waste, hence my reluctance to name a sure-fire #1 pick.

It's a shame you didn't see more of Geno, Dane.

Your tone would be completely different if you had.

Jmo.

Is he going to be cut?

He won't be starting if the Chiefs draft a #1 QB and he's due $5.25M next year. A pick + that salary for a backup?

I don't really have a "tone, per se. It's not that I don't believe that he's a franchise QB, it's that I've seen nothing personally to convince me he's a franchise QB. That said, I'm not passing judgment, either.

To me, it kinda feels like Tannehill, circa 2011. Some people thought he had it, some people didn't. I thought his closest comp was Flacco, who up until this year, didn't feel like a Franchise QB to me. After what he was able to do in Denver, my opinion has changed.

Anyway, you're right: It would have been nice to see him, outside of the K-State game and Bowl game, so that I could participate.

At this point, I'm on the sidelines waiting for the game (Combines) to begin.
