I'd be going 80 in a 70 MPH zone in the fast lane and a car will ride my tail and try to pass me with a semi up ahead. Speed up just enough so he can't make it and is forced to slow down and fall back behind me. I'm not mean enough to immediately match the speed of the Semi though, that would be going a bit too far, lol. |

Aries Walker has it right. You can see the flat bed truck at the 2 sec. mark on the video. That whole time she is recording, she was next to that vehicle and the vehicle in front of the flatbed truck. When she showed the speedometer, it's probably to show she is driving the speed limit or perhaps a little over the speed limit. When she finally passed them, hotshot redneck driver accelerates immediately and passes on the right without allowing her to get over first. She was following proper driving law the entire video...
Except for the videoing part. That should be against the law and surprised she isn't being ticketed for that. But overall, the pickup driver was in the wrong the whole time. Now after saying all that, I would have been pissed also driving behind her because I feel if you are driving practically the same speed as the drivers in the right lane, you need to either speed up and pass and get over or slow down, get over and let faster traffic go ahead and pass. |

They brought up that highways where trucks are suppose to be in the left lane that of course then passing on the right would have to be allowed. They are saying that new signage should start going this spring.

I wonder how long that was going on before he tailgated her and attempted to pass on the right? He may have given her a chance or two before becoming more aggressive. She should have just let the SOB pass instead of speeding up.

She actually did nothing illegal, but that's not to say she didn't do anything wrong. I think she baited the guy, and she definitely took her mind off of her driving in order to film him. In her defense, she stopped when she didn't have to, and she did help the police catch him.

And when exactly did she speed up? From what I saw, she kept a pretty consistent speed the whole time.

He should of got in front of her and slowed way down. When I first moved to Texas I had an economy car and the big trucks would get up on my bumper. So, I had to join them and get a big truck like them. Unreal how long it takes these big trucks to stop. And the price of Diesel forget the big rigs. I still have my big truck but I drive my Impala and look at the big trucks and think to myself have fun at the fuel pump.
You ever notice how you can't use cruise control. Nobody drives at a consistent speed. I drove in Germany for 7 years. Germans are master drivers. Americans drive like kindergartners. |

I keep reading this passing lane crap, and i just want to clarify what was explained to me by CHP.
Passing lane does not equal Speeding lane. It's a common misconception. It's a myth. If the speed limit is 65mph, it's 65mph for all lanes, however it is illegal to pass on the right lane (i.e, if you're in the left lane, you can't move to the right lane to go around the car in front of you), hence the reason the left lane is deemed as the passing lane. It sounds like BS and it's rarely enforced, but it is in fact the law at least here in CA. Again, just because you're in the left lane that doesn't give you the right to speed above the speed limit. |
