Alan,
many left for a variety of reasons. The big fuss hinged upon the KC.com BBAdmin's methods for informing us of change of policy regarding political threads. Political threads weren't really an issue as you can see from the lack of them here but being treated like children (do as I say, don't ask why, I'm the BBAdmin, that's why!) didn't sit well with most of us.... I just like the performance, format, & expanded options of this board.<BR>

alanm: some might be able to explain it better, but here's the executive summary...

Late last week during a 'lull' in conversation, luz posted a political topic. This lead to the posting of several other political topics. At some point, the BBA posted a 3 word topic that said 'No political discussions'.

Requests as to why the sudden about face on this went unanswered. Many were angered because they believed that the posts were in line with the terms of use and the BBA was unresponsive to requests for clarification.

i moved because all the people that started the good conversations came over here cuz they were upset about censorship. the bba deleted whole threads and posts for no reason. i got booted with three different log in names before i even had the chance to use them. but everyone else can fill you in with more detail.

Well I guess that kind of clears it up. But Hey! They've been discusing political topics forever there why the sudden change in policy? I thought Adam T. was the BBA there or has he stepped aside because of the extended time spent covering the Chiefs?

Teicher was NEVER BBA at KC.com. It's some lady named Becky. She was always helpful in the past but really dropped the ball this time. I don't even want to talk about the sub-par performance of the other BB....

Phobia - Beckie is not the only BBA at kc.com, there are a couple of others.

alanm: the sudden change was the reason for the 'exodus' on many fronts. Performance was a side issue from my perspective.

alanm - the attitude that was presented from the BBA was overbearing and dictatorial. More than what I wanted to deal with or be a part of. Would assume many left for similar reason's.

Performance has always been an issue for me. I've always been waiting for a better spot to discuss Chiefs football and this is it....

I left for several reasons:

1) performance and lack of response from the BB Admin when asked about the poor performance

2) the about face when political threads started being deleted w/o any explanation

3) Like Kphobia, I was appalled at the treatment of the situation by the BB Admin(no matter who it was that did it)

4)Lack of professionalism by the administrators of the BB in announcing the changes and why

FWIW, I never called(even though it was inferred)Beckie a "Hitler". I suggested that there could have been professionalism in how it was handled, not using the "Adolph Hitler method of expungement". If anyone sees that as calling someone a "Hitler" I apologize, it was not meant in that manner.

Phobia - Uptime is my biggest issue, I hate trying to get on the other BB when it is down every other day. That and I'm not sure that any suggestion we ever made was taken to heart and done on the BB. I hate having to log in all the time over there, I don't know why they wouldn't add a checkbox labeled "remember me" so that I didn't have to waste my time with that.

I haven't been here long enough to know....but the down times at the other board were intolerable. I'd go to work and it would be 6 hours before it was up. There was no obvious attempt to correct the problem. The options and graphics here are obviously better. How do you a giant smile?
