I hate Mulder...with a fiery passion. But Dan Haren has a long long way to go before he's Steve Carlton. If Haren wins a Cy and Barton wins a batting title, we may be approaching Carlton for Wise, but not before then. |

I still hate that one who sucks the penis, though. I have the 2006 WS lockerroom celebration photo on my wall, and right in the middle of it, right next to each other, are Mulder and Marquis. I can't believe the rest of team even let those useless pricks in the room. |

Looper needs to get through the 7th unscathed and give it off to the pen if he can't get into the 8th.
I would feel confident with a 3 run lead in the 8th but not with anything less. |

I did not like Wellemeyer as a starter last year, but I really like what I've seen from him this year. He's working consistently at 93, giving him the best power stuff on the club. He's actually consistently throwing strikes and spotting in the strike zone. He's developed a downright nasty slider and his changeup is developing nicely. For the stat crowd, his peripherals have all the looks of a guy that can keep this up. He's looking more and more to fit the profile of your classic power pitcher. Better still, he has very few miles on a relatively young arm still, so there's reason to believe he has a lot of tread left and could be counted on for 200+ innings. I'll be honest, outside of Wainwright, I think Wellemeyer is more likely to be a front of the rotation pitcher than anyone else on our club. He's pretty much penned into my 2009 rotation, which should allow us to put McClellan in the closer's role (I'm not having a rookie as my closer in '09). |

Did you hear Piniella is getting fed up with Marquis and his arrogance? |

Only the Cubs would be fucking stupid enough to sign a guy who got a World Series ring because he DIDN'T pitch. |

I personally like Lohse. He has pitched well and although recently struggled was fairly consistent, |

I'd like to see Franklin in the 8th and McClellan in the 9th to lock it down. Izzy's age has caught up to him. He can still be effective, but not without more rest than he's had in years past. This club needs to find who it's 'winning streak' closer's gonna be, because we can't expect 70 innings out of the Izzy man this year. |

He is stubborn because he thinks he is a power pitcher and he thinks his 89mph fastball will strike everyone out. |
