I don't mean to aggravate Mr. Pawnmower again, but according to some dinosaurs I know, the 10 mile-wide asteroid that created the Chicxulub crater smashed into Earth without any warning whatsoever causing dust to fill up their little dino-nostrils and made them sneeze to death. They were thinking, "Hey, everything's cool. We're stable and stuff, let's eat!" ... then it's boomski.
There are certain aspects of the cosmos that can be considered "stable", I suppose. Relatively so, anyhow. But that's a broad term to use to describe a system that exists in a galaxy that also behaves like unto a giant pinball machine. We can be struck by an object large enough to eliminate all complex life forms at any time, really. Plus, there are any number of events that could (and probably eventually will) occur both within and outside our solar system that can adversely affect planetary orbits. All that's really required is a collision large enough to substantially disrupt a single planetary orbit (or even a moon, come to think of it) and the entire system could be thrown into chaos. We live on a razor's edge of life sustaining balance. The conditions are perfect for us now, but the slightest change in that order and harmony could cause a cataclysmic domino effect. To imagine that no object from outside or even currently existing on the fringes of our solar system can cause us harm is, according to Spock who knows this stuff, illogical. FAX |

That's a very good thought Mr. Fax. I just don't know why so many people can't wrap their minds around the possibility that this event is possible. All the clues have been presented , I mean why in the hell would a caveman draw the picture of a lizard / slash humanoid in a cave not just once but on every continent in the world.
By the way I don't have a led helment and was thinking I would look for one on Ebay or craigslist but then got to thinking why bother. Standing around pissing your pants really has some appeal to it. |

Wouldn't a planet flying through the SS mess up the balance in gravity between the planets?
