Lot of hostility in this thread.

He won't be whispering by season's end. He'll be screaming. And you will be the man.
Over the course of the offseason we've heard all about how Andy Reid was going to implement a new offense built around Alex Smith's strengths. Reid wasn't bringing in Smith to be a game manager, but to teach him to play aggresively in a new high-powered offense.

So far, we haven't seen anything to support these notions. Smith looks like the EXACT same quarterback we saw in San Francisco, and we've seen the same timidity that has hamstrung him throughout his entire career. That's bad news for the Chiefs, because he didn't bring that 49er's defense with him to KC.

I know its just the preseason, but at some point this offense is going to have to show something before I have any faith in their ability to score points in the regular season.

Not much to be happy with in tonight's game by Smith. He looked pretty lost back there. Much like Cassel. Don't see how you guys can argue that he didn't.

I did enjoy this first down Alex picked up, though. Great job. More of this, please.

I thought the Chiefs defense looked really good though. Yeah they gave up that big run, but still held them to three.

Well of course you didn't put down 3 drops.

Passes the would have been at least 2 first downs.

But that doesn't count, cause it doesn't fit your narrative.

I definitely am optimistic about our defense but we did only see Kaepernick for one series.
