Jaws 'Andy Reid will draft a QB!!"

he was just on NFL Draft deal on ESPN vehemently saying reid will draft a QB, and said he doesnt matter at what spot--1.1 or 1.32.

He truly sounded like a bunch of folks around here.

There are 5 QB's looking to go in the top 2 rounds.

One of them will be a franchise QB. I'm not saying I know better than NFL GM's do but one of these guys will work out.

It's not my job to find out who - it's theirs. Figure it out and take a swing on a guy...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

How about this...

Albert deal gets done with the Fish, and winds up being the #42 pick.

The #42 pick and the #63 pick are packaged and moved to Minnesota for one of their picks, say #23. Points value on that deal is very close by the chart.

1.1 Joeckel or Fisher... whichever LT they desire.
1.23 Geno... if he falls like the pundits seem to think. Not just him, all QB's.

Could you live with that if the scenario starts to play out tomorrow night?

It depends on how you're defining "franchise, I guess. From the P. Manning draft forward, though

2002
2003
2006
2007
2010

are drafts where you'd have to stretch the definition of franchise (Palmer, Bradford), and on top of that,

2000 (Brady)
2001 (Brees)
2011 (Jury still out, but Kapaernick and Dalton were outside round 1)

are drafts where the best QBs were, or may be, after round 1.

That means we traded our first three picks AND Albert for Alex Smith, Geno Smith, and one of the OT. Despite the initial feeling of being ripped off, I would feel ecstatic that we finally have depth at the QB position.

I agree with this, and I don't think Geno will be the one. I just think really there are 3 or 4 QBs that are gonna be successfull in this draft.

Nassib, Bray, Barkley just may all suprise.

Then unless they like Nassib or some other QB that high you stay put and pick at #42 and #63.

If Geno doesn't go by Buffalo, there is a chance he makes it into the 20's. Especially if he gets by the Jets two picks.

Yeah, but you could sign Geno to a 5 year deal instead of a 4 year deal. That makes letting him sit for a year or two be more feasible as well.

i'm ok with drafting a QB in any round during any draft year, you can never have too many quality QB's.

but don't just grab some limp dick just so you can say you got one

Nassib sucks. This is one of his best games of his career:

He forces throws and is completely inaccurate past 20 yards. Not Mike Glennon inaccurate, but pretty inaccurate.

He's a poor man's Jake Locker at the very best.
