Grab some extra cash. Don't **** it off, or think you can spend more money because you have extra income. That will be a huge help. Huge. The other thing to consider is that if you grab a second revenue source, that keeps you busy. If you have idle time, that's when you spend the most money. If you're working all the time, you can't **** off your money doing stupid shit. |

That extra revenue will also cut down on your discretionary expenses because you won't have the time to spend it. It will allow you to a) pay down your debt faster, b) create some savings, and c) let you really examine what expenses are actually important to you; quality expenses are more important than quantity expenses. |

Credit cards are great, if you pay the balance every month. Another is track every nickel you spend to see where the money goes. You may find a way to save some money by adjusting your habits. There is a hole in everyones spending bucket.

If you were a girl I'd say this: Get pregnant, wait til you're showing blatantly, post pregnant pics of yourself on as many websites, social or otherwise, as possible. Put desperate, but cute statements under them like "6 months and broke, what's an expectant mother to do?" watch the money roll in from friends and family, combine it with the state funding you get, then combine that with your child support from baby's Daddy. You'll be out of debt in minimum time and won't even have to lift a finger; just spread your legs.
You're a guy though so all that's irrelevant and you're just ****ed. |

I second the Dave Ramsey Plan.
A lot of it has been said in this thread - but If you stick to His plan - it really works. You could be debt free in the next few months! Good Luck |

Just started a Roth Ira with Vanguard. I put in 150 month, just started in January. I have contributed 1600 so far, but I have earned almost 90 that the fund has generated, Which completely shits over anything a savings account will do. You should only put in 3 months pay or not much more than 10000 dollars into savings. It is meant to be liquid assets to be used in a pinch with little to no penalty, not something you rely on for retirement.
