This offense absolutely SUCKS!!!!

Good god it's getting to the point where I would rather have Hackett running this PoS offense.

This is the worst Chiefs offense I have seen in God knows how long.

Wanna know how to stop the Chiefs from ever scoring?
- Put 8 people in the box. We never throw the ball past the first down marker anyways so who gives a ****?!?!

Cmon gochiefs in 2005 the CHiefs were 10-6 and were a fluke for not getting into the playoffs.

This was basically DV's team minus Roaf but we gained Ty Law.

The problem is that the offense, for all Herm's talk of a youth movement, hasn't really gotten all that much younger. We're still old, the offense looks incredibly predictable and disorganized, which is a combo that I would have never thought possible. We have no fullback, we have no WRs outside of our aging TE and an even older WR who, while vastly underrated during his time in KC, is going to start backsliding eventually.

This offense is a trainwreck waiting to happen. Last year's playoff game should have tipped even the most rabid Chiefs fan off to that little bit of info. The cries of "it's the preseason" just ring incredibly hollow to me. If this offense was going to be effective in the least, it would have scored more than one touchdown in the entire fucking 4 games.

Damien McIntosh is not Willie Roaf, no matter how badly some want that to be the case. He's not going to make that much of a difference, people.

It's not like any of us are going to stop supporting the team completely, and you're kidding yourself if you think you will. Let go of your season tickets? Maybe. But you'll still tune in, and your thoughts will still be directed towards 1 Arrowhead Drive every Sunday.

But a 3-13 season wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to this franchise.

Brian Brohm, come on down.

The only thing that this preseason proved is that you are a terrible talent evaluator and just write fluff articles. I have been saying all offseason that KC will suck this year on Offense and you guys just said I was being a troll. Enjoy the bottom of AFC west.

if you think the Chiefs last year getting to the playoffs was an accomplishment after the abortion they presented when they actually played. there is no use arguing with you.

that might be the all time worst performance by a playoff team ever!

DV is just plain better.

Buck up... remember this - Oakland is just barely rejoining the NFL again after a total joke of a season.... Chiefs are just now dipping down to our level. Our games will be a total toss-up.

It's just not going to happen, brother. It's simple economics. Carl Peterson makes the Hunt family far, far too much money.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that it's pretty clear where this team's ceiling stands. We're not going to win more than 9 games at the most, and that's being generous. Even if McIntosh is the second coming of Willie Roaf, John Tait and Will Shields aren't rejoining this squad, and the defense is average. They may have the talent and ability to be pretty good, though that's hardly a given, but the amount of time they'll spend on the field in relation to the offense this year will take care of that.

9-7 pretty much sums up the life of a Chiefs fan. Not bad enough to be truly God-awful. Not good enough to matter to anyone worth a shit.

Loving the Chiefs is masochism in the extreme.

Troubled, and with no small amount of trepidation, I polished my crystal martyballs and gazed fearfully into the future.

Through tortured, grieving mists of agony, I saw the enemy dink and dunk their way downfield against our C2 because the safeties are young. With a sickening, horrifying realization that even the most malevolent dreams can come true, I saw the enemy deploy the run and the short pass to nullify pressure from our DEs. In between press conferences, I saw Herm standing dully on the sidelines praying weakly and desperately for turnovers or denial in the redzone. But his prayers are not answered. We don't get the turnovers, teams eat up the clock, and when we do hold, we give up field goals.

Through the fog of despair, Herm makes fantastical demands on LJ and safe passes to carry the offense to victory. But enemy defenses know his mind, they flood the box and, therefore, easily defend his fruitless, futile efforts. A paralytic gloom envelopes the offense as our o-line and new fullback struggle helplessly with outside runs, screens, stretches, sweeps, and the 7-step drop. We do not stretch the field to the sidelines or vertically and the fans weep stinging tears.

I see thousands of empty seats and manic thunder called down by the media as we lose game after game by a field goal. I see hopelessness and desperation rise, as our kicker proves inconsistent and undependable. The team that scores first in most of our games wins and, through the gloom of 4th and long, I see that it is not us. There is misery. There is dread. And there is despondency throughout the kingdom. May God help us all.

EDIT

BTW...Herm isn't getting "one year and the preseason". Those of us who've paid attention saw what Herm did with the Jets. They trended down every season he was there, and the only reason they were any good when he got there was that Parcells had left things in decent shape. It's not like Herm just materialized in KC...he's got a track record.
What those of you who've paid attention really ought to do is actually check the Jets history.

Parcells 1998 team was 12-4 and lost in the AFC championship.

Parcells 1999 team started 4-8 with Testaverde hurt and won last 4 to finish 8-8. Parcells then stepped down as head coach.

Al Groh's 2000 team started 9-4 and lost last three to finish 9-7 and missed playoffs. He left to coach at Virginia. Parcells quit his front office job.

Herm Edwards 2001 team finished 10-6 and lost in playoffs to Raiders.

Herm Edwards 2002 team startd 1-4, he switches to Pennington wins 8 of 11, then crushes Indy in the playoffs before losing at Oakland.

Herm Edwards 2003 team starts the year without Pennington because of an arm fracture in the pre-season and starts 1-6 and finishes 6-10.

Herm Edwards 2004 team starts 6-1 before Pennington tears a rotator cuff, misses three games and plays hurt the rest of the year. Team finishes 10-6 wins a road playoff game at San Diego and almost beats the 15-1 Steelers on the road for a chance at the AFC championship.

Herm Edwards 2005 team starts with Pennington's arm not really right and he aggravates the rotator cuff injury and the team finishes 4-12.

Mangini's team with a healthy Pennington finishes 10-6 and makes the playoffs.

The facts are that Parcells last team was impacted by a QB injury and did not make the playoffs. His last team as GM collapsed down the stretch under his handpicked successor and both quit.

Herm's and Mangini's teams have done fine when they have a healthy QB. No thanks at all to Parcells, who really did not do so much in Dallas other than to make enough money to build his retirement back up after his divorce.
