Another actor that fits the above comment is Leonardo Di Caprio. WTF IS THE BIG DEAL WITH THESE GUYS?!

That said, despite my earlier reservations about Brad Pitt cast as Achilles, I thought he did a pretty credible job in Troy.
You say you don't like Pitt, but you then you give Troy as an example of his good stuff? Either you haven't seen much of Pitt's work, or you've completely disqualified yourself as having an intelligent opinion in this thread. That probably ranks in the bottom 2 or 3 of his acting performances, barely above Thelma and Louise.

If you want to see his good stuff follow the other recommendations. I'd also add 'A River Runs Through It' to the list.

The thing is, most guys are probably twice as critical of him because he is a pretty face. I know I was. The fact that he got beyond that is proof enough for me that he's a good actor.

That reminds me. What was that movie with Aiden Quinn and Sir Hannibal Lecter? They owned a ranch, and it was set, I think, around WWI.
