Is Brandon Albert proving some of the draftniks here right?

So far this season he has not looked very good. What do you think it is? Is he a LG and not a LT (like some draftniks here insisted)? Is he going through sophomore jinx? Is it the weight loss?

You know what? I think I'll make a poll about it.

"Well, for most teams Albert would have been a left tackle, it just so happens they had another real good one in Eugene Monroe who was a big-time recruit. He is a guy to watch out for in 2009. I am as high on Albert as everyone else and I think he is the second best offensive lineman in this class."

Actually I heard that he was "projected as a Tackle" many times by guys justifying their draft boards. There was talk (on ESPN I think, might have been NFLN) about whether a team would want to put him at RT or LG while he came up to speed if that's what they wanted to do with him. When I saw his highlights can you guess the first thought that popped into my head? That's right. "He's a Guard."

Notice how he didn't say Offensive Tackle? Amazing isn't it?

It's too bad you guys didn't have an impact LT on your line. I think he'd make a great Guard eventually. Hmmm..I wonder if we can get our hands on him down the road...

The draft boards I looked at had him projected at about 22-25, where you would expect a top quality guard ot go, so they didn't have to justify their boards.

And I read everything I could find and watched everything I could, and except for Mike Mayock, no one was projecting him as tackle until the week before the draft.

And hey, I have no problem with your inability to recognize talent.

On a really good O line he's a right tackle or a guard. On our dumpster fire of a line, he's the LT.

No, he's really still just trying to justify his position that the Chiefs should have taken Clady at #5.

Hindsight being 20/20, Clady at 5 would have been a better pick but Albert is a good lineman so we could have done worse.

What "draftniks" here thought he was a LG? The people who have suggested moving him to another position were an entirely different crowd.

The people who want to move him are the people who think you need 5 1st round offensive linemen to be any good.

The people who really fit the term draftnik are people not in favor of the premise of this thread.
