QBs other than Luck

In the event the Sea Hawks suckitude exceeds that of the Chiefs:

I'm adding Griffin the hottest QB in the nation right now (9/26/11). The kid has more TD passes than incompletions.

Nick Foles

Matt Barkley

Landry Jones

Ryan Lindley

Brandon Weeden

Barkley plays in 10 minutes on ESPN v. Colorado. Colorado has an atrocious pass D so he should look pretty good.

Was watching the USC game. I don't think Barkley will go back next year. What would be the point. Try and win a National Champ or the Heisman I guess. However now tha the rookie scale is in effect being the number 1 overall pick isn't as lucrative.

IMO Barkley is sitting in the perfect position right now. He could go into the draft and be drafted in the mid first or something by a team that isn't shitty like the overall first pick.

If he keeps playing like he has been then he's going to be a top 3 pick. I can't see him falling that far.

He was very impressive last night. Granted, it was Colorado but he still made a lot of great throws.

Barkley doesn't have a great showing in big games. This years Stanford game being the exception.

I want to see him play big in more big games.

Barkley has slowly become the Planet's latest love-fest QB.

It's probably me, but I don't see it. I thought Sanchez looked better at USC than Barkley does, and I didn't want anything to do with Sanchez.

Barkley looks eerily similar to Cassel to me.

I'm having a hard time getting past what I saw Mel Kiper said in a chat earlier this year. At the time he projected Barkley to go mid first and said a downfall with him is that he doesn't have elite tools.

I know QBs can succeed without having that cannon arm but after watching Trent Green (good QB but average arm strength), Matt Cassel (horrible tools), I'm simply ready for a change. Give me a QB who brings some special skills physically.

I think Brandon Weeden is the best QB after Luck.

But, at his age, yikes. You can't use a 1st round pick on him.

Of course Weeden is really good. He's 28 years old. He's older than Alex Smith.

DEN @ KC

KC @ NE...we probably have a better defense, but I don't think we have enough to slow down Brady. This is a HUGE game for Cassel because we should be right in the thick of things (in terms of division lead) and I'm sure Cassel will be trying to have his best game as a pro.

PITT @ KC...I don't think we win this game, but I didn't think we would win our meeting in 09, either.

KC @ CHI...Our pass rush should be able to pressure Cutler and I think we match up well with them in a lot more categories.

KC @ NYJ...This is gonna be a damn good game with lots of CP traffic.

GB @ KC...Minnesota played them close...?

OAK @ KC....28-0 and at home

KC @ DEN....could have playoff implications and we should be on the top of our game.

...

If we only win 2 of those games...lots of people need replaced.

I think we win 6 of those games (the highlighted ones) and go 9-7.

So, I was just watching some more of Matt Barkley... has anyone else noticed that anytime he puts power behind his throws (either to go deep or to put zip on the ball) he substantially contorts his throwing motion. Most of the time it is accurate, but from a footwork perspective, its more like a wind-up and a pitch than a football throw. It also takes a fair bit longer for him to work through that wind-up and release. Just something that has really stood out to me in rewatching the Cal and Washington snap-by-snaps.

I watched the Cal and Oregon clips recently and came to the conclusion he has a poor intermediate and deep pass. He can sometimes float them in on intermediate passes, but for the most part he's inaccurate on deep balls. From those two games he does not look like a top 10 pick.
