Video Games MW3 vs BF3 - Page 6

a group of about 5 of us are trying to decide which one to get.
We like the Call of Duty series, but weren't big fans of MW2

BF3 looks good but ea servers being what they are we aren't sure if it will be that good.

Right now it is a toss up.
Does anyone have any big pros or cons for either?

I kind of like BF3 letting 24 people per map on it.

Those attack helicopters are giant POS, if you get one kill with that thing you are lucky as hell. All that thing does is cockblock the good choppers.

That's what you get for stealing my kills! i run 90% of the way across the map, get within 5 feet of a guy with my knives and you ****ing shoot his ass from halfway across the map! you ****er!

Hell, I'm fine with that. I rarely play online anyway so I wouldn't feel like I lost out on anything.

What I see happening is the end of single player games. Eventually everything will be online multiplayer only.

I don't think so. That's like people predicting that there would be no more books after radio and TV were invented. There will always be storytelling in video games because there's a market for it.

I actually struggle playing games single player anymore, i get bored too easy. It's always more fun multiplayer IMO.

I'm the same way but that mostly applies to FPS for me.

I'm the same way with RPG games. I mean who the hell wants to spend all that time leveling up a guy and be able to show it off?

Different kind of RPGs. Diablo is not really an RPG as much as it is a hack and slash that let's you level up. If you want an RPG, play Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Witcher, etc. Those games are the true RPGs, where you make choices or progress through an incredibly well written story.

Diablo is like a shallow little puddle compared to any one of those games and they are all single player.

None of the vehicles are really "overpowered" right off the bat. There are vehicle specific unlocks as you accumulate points. Jets just start with the vanilla machine gun until you can get air to air heat seeking missiles, radar jamming, counter measures, air to ground missiles, etc. Same with the ground based vehicles. I played the beta and got the guided missile unlock for the Tungksta (sp) or whatever its called russian AA tank. Took me about 3 hours worth of games sitting on a hill shooting at jets/choppers/occassional humvee.

I agree with you. Maybe it's because of my A.D.D, or maybe I just suck at RPG's, but I can't find anything that enveloped me more than FF7.

What's the best RPG you've played on PS3? One that you couldn't put down?
