You should be worried about Rivers

Dude is straight up beasting this year.

He just set the all time record for accuracy in a 400 yard game, and there is only one other QB even close to as good as him statistically this season (Manning, duh). Manning is statistically better in every category, actually he leads the NFL in every important category, but Rivers is right behind him.

I think a lot of you were assuming 2 wins against us this year, but what I've seen from Rivers the last 4 games has me more excited than ever. He's never played this good, and he used to be considered "Elite."

I'll compare Rivers, Manning, and Brees because they seem like the 3 best QBs to compare as of now. Brady is suffering with his shitty receiving corps, or else I'd throw him in here too.

Yards
Manning - 1470 (1st)
Brees - 1434 (2nd)
Rivers - 1199 (7th)

Comp %
Manning - 75.0% (1st)
Rivers - 73.9% (2nd)
Brees - 66.9% (4th)

Touchdowns
Manning - 16 (1st)
Rivers - 11 (2nd)
Brees - 10 (3rd)

Passer Rating
Manning - 138.0 (1st)
Rivers - 118.8 (2nd)
Brees - 103.8 (5th)

Total QBR
Manning - 91.4 (1st)
Rivers - 81.4 (2nd)
Brees - 74.9 (4th)

Interceptions (Starters Only)
Manning - 0 (1st)
Rivers - 2 (T-4th)
Brees - 4 (~T-18th)

Apologies to Aaron Rodgers for not having played 4 games or else I'd use him in comparison too.

Berry... yeah, he doesn't have that.

Try going for the horse phobia. That might work better.
This whole perception started with the Cutler incident and that's BS. Cutler was talkin' smack while getting smacked around, Rivers merely nicely asked him to pipe down. All of a sudden he's being called whiny.

Sure he kicks the ball and gets flustered occasionally, but who doesn't. Favre was twice as bad and nobody dared to call him a pussy.

I guess you guys just see what you want to see. If I were a Chief fan I would probably hate Rivers because he's a fiery competitor who threatens my teams ability to make the playoffs, and I would drive an Iroc and do meth.

Sure he kicks the ball and physically expresses his frustrations ALL THE GODDAMNED TIME! But that's what all QBs do, right? Riiiight?

Newsflash, bro: Nearly all QBs are just as fierce competitors as Rivers is. This goes back to Tebow, where people who claimed years ago that Tebow was the next thing in the NFL because nobody wanted to win more than he did. That was absolute garbage. Tebow did dumb shit like kneeling and jumping up and down like a psychotic methhead and hitting himself in the face with hammers because he was just so darn competitive! People pointed to that and said, "We don't see very many other QBs doing those kinds of things. That must be the key to his success, and why he won all those games with the Broncos! He just wants it so much more than everybody else!"

And the same shit applies to Rivers. Other QBs I can guarangoddamntee you are just as fierce and want to win just as much as Rivers does. It only looks like Rivers wants it more because he noticeably does stupid shit. Whereas NORMAL QBs who have those kinds of emotions in check don't need to kick the football and yell and scream and pout to the officials constantly.

Please don't compare Rivers to Tebow.

I cited the example of Favre who did stupid shit all the time and nobody called him a pussy. How about everybody's favorite Peyton who's starting fights with his O-Linemen on the sideline? Is he a whiny bitch too?
BTW - kicking the football, yelling and screaming I can agree with, but, I've never seen him pout and I don't get where the perception of him being whiny or a pussy comes from. It's all baseless.

I have a real dislike for Rivers. The guy's a douche on the field. Hell already this season he freaked the hell out on a call that went against him and drew an "unsportsmanlike conduct" penalty for being all up in the ref's face. Can't remember who they were playing, I was watching Red Zone at the time.

That said, can't argue with the numbers he's putting up. I thought we were done with this asshole, but I guess it'll be up to this Chiefs D to take him down a couple notches. Again.

The Chargers O is playing wayyy over their heads. They have practice squad fodder at 4 out of 5 oline positions and slapdicks at receiver. They'll likely end up regressing substantially, but this does answer the question of whether other QBs could put up Peyton Manning numbers running Peyton Mannings offense.

It also remains to be seen whether Alex Suck can keep up offensively with either Denver or S.D. At a likely 5-0 after this weekend there is a significant cushion when it comes to making the playoffs, but most folks around here know how these things end, especially with an Alex Suck at the QB position.

Other QBs do this kind of stuff all the time! You're just arbitrarily pointing fingers at Rivers because you're itching for a good reason to hate him other than he's a dangerous QB that you have to face twice a year! /Gadzooks

He's ranked #2 in my fantasy league.

The CHIEFS would be considered ELITE with Rivers as their QB. All you Chiefs fans would be singing a dif tune about his attitude if he played in KC. I've seen him play 7-8 times and he's very competitive while also being very durable

I never said he pouts in the ref's face. Yells and screams to the point of getting a flag thrown when fewer than 1% of NFL players have ever had that happen to them in their entire CAREERS, sure. But pouts, no.

But he DOES pout. He's not absolved from that charge.

I can live with "douche". I think Peyton's a bit of douche but if he were a Charger I would easily learn to live with that.

As a former D-Lineman, I think most QBs are douches.

I hated Rivers back when he was better than my team's QB.

I don't really mind him now.
