I don't see this concept as feasible at a "door to door" level. Perhaps a local drop area of secure centralized locaton could work, but seriously, the logistics are severely prohibitive.

And given the 7.8 meter accuracy of commercial GPS, then what?

You can get 3 meters hprizontally and more accurate with augmentation systems, but you're not going to get that from a cell phone.

If the GPS will get the drone within 8 meters, a photo or a cheap RF gadget or a printable target would do the rest.

Yes - the objections being raised are just design issues. The necessary tech already exists. Capability is only a matter of time plus development effort.

Amazon has nearly limitless financial resources, which can solve all the regulatory issues as well.

All in all, I can't see front-door drone delivery happening for a long, long time.
Sounds like the technology is there or will be, and if they can put a man on the moon, I'm sure they can fly a package to your door. Legal and safety issues will be much, much harder to overcome.

Until Bud Light can prove it will put a pool in my backyard with tons of bikini babes and professional athletes hanging out there, beer is pure marketing.
