You are right about Hali. I stupidly looked at his 2014 #. However, the Chiefs are still only $1.8 million under, even accounting for the cap increase. Re-work all those contracts, but you aren't going to have enough to re-sign Houston, Hudson, get depth in for the departing players that we do have, and bring in another quality FA.

I think some of it has to do with better drafting and we had a new gm and coach bring in a new system. When Reid and Dorsey came in they cut away a bunch of young players on rookie deals and in return had to pay guys like Donnie Avery, Devito and so on... I think it's catching up with them though, because they should lose one of the Thomas' this year

Some of it the tail end of some of Pioli's contracts - Berry, Hali, DJ, Flowers...

Bowe is all on Dorsey, of course, as are Alex Smith and Sean Smith.

I'm with you, though. It doesn't seem like this team should have cap problems as there aren't that many players that deserve large contracts.

Denver is better at structuring contracts as well...

In fairness the only thing Pioli was good at was The cap imo. I think Dorsey will be fine. I don't think he's an idiot at all. Something else is playing into this in my mind.

Well, this pretty much says that the Chiefs are going WR in the draft and FA. I mean they're talking about restructuring or cutting DBowe if he doesn't restructure so if you lose Jenkins, DBowe and Avery in the same offseason you better be getting some WR's.
