Go on Record: Predict the Punishment for Deflategate

So we've all talked about what we think the punishment will be for Deflategate. What do you think WILL be the punishment? Will the Kraft/Goodell relationship come to fruition? Will the be pounded as multiple offenders? Will they get the Saints treatment?

My official prediction: Brady gets a $500,000 fine. Belichick gets $250,000. Loss of a fifth round draft pick for the organization.

I dunno about fines, but there is precedent for suspending the head coach, even when he didn't know about the infraction of members of his staff and team.

None of this changes anything. The patriots have a pattern of cheating over a period of many years, and so they should be getting no quarter from the league. They should get the same thing as they did for Spygate, or something similar.

What I want has ****all to do with what I posted.

What I posted and you quoted is what I PREDICT will happen.

Why do I think that will happen? Because they've made it clear that organizations are responsible for what goes on in their business.

I'm pretty sure my PREDICTION will be wrong.

I saw the texts in the report. One guy did not even like Tom as he cussed Tom out enough.

Oh, and the PSI numbers were not that bad compared to original reports.

Well, the report still cleared BB. This is a fact.

Again, I think there's a communication problem. I do think these guys deflated footballs, circumvented the rules to do so, and I do think Brady was generally aware of the situation. I contend that it was not to deflate the balls below the PSI regulations though. If that were the case, the intent was to cheat. I don't think that was the case, but it was done inappropriately. I think a QB should be able to have the PSI set to his liking, so long as it's within the allowable amount. So, I think any punishment has to take this into consideration. And I don't think the entire organization should be punished for what the few did. That's just excessive punishment.

The press reports omit such points. That's where it becomes innuendo and insinuation damaging someone's reputation and income if he is fined.

When they try to invoke the penalties, Brady and Belichick will line up in a weird manner and declare the equipment manager to be an eligible receiver of the penalty, and then they'll run away.

Other than that, my prediction is that it will be significantly less than the forfeiture of a Super Bowl trophy. I'm guessing $25,000 that Goodell will then use to buy champagne for Kraft during one of their nights out on the town.

Also, a formal apology from the league office to the Patriots for bothering them with this stupid shit.

Goodell needs to go. He's the son of a senator and runs the league like a politically correct bureaucrat, including being a busy body in the private lives of players. His interest here is to appear to be protect the integrity of the game not hand out justice—where the punishment is actually related to the crime.

I'd love to see them suspend Brady for the year and then take away your draft picks for the draft.
