Quite frankly, I wish someone would have demonstrated this to me BEFORE arriving in the workplace. College or high school should include courses in sucking up. Who you know and how you present yourself to others (unfortunately) has a greater positive impact on your pay than knowledge, talent, or work ethic.

Yeah, from my time as an active, the surprises only came from when a kid who
seemed a firm commit would bail to another chapter.

Yep, I can honestly say we never really lost a guy that we wanted in the house. After a couple of rush events, you can easily pick out who fits into the culture and who doesn't.

I think my house had it figured out pretty well. We performed very well in both intramurals and grades, plus we threw huge parties with all of the sororities.
