Tacos.

How do you do 'em? Beef, chicken, pork, fish? How do you season the protein? What kind of toppings? Crunchy or soft shells? Is there a difference between a soft taco and a small burrito?

I agree with these California guys on taco style. Soft corn tortilla with meat and minimal garnish (usually onions and cilantro) is quite solid but needs good hot sauce.

Corn tortilla, Adobada, Onion, Cilanto, Guac. All you need. Sub in any meat also.

All of my comments before were me making the tacos. If I eat them out, they better be goddamn good tacos or I'm going to get something else I like better.

There is an outfit in town that makes them in this manner. They are super legit. I wish I could get the recipe for the meat. Their hot sauce is just a bit too hot for me, but I Tough it out because it is ****ing good. I'm just miserable later.

They also do something no one else around here does. They take a flour tortilla then fry it in presumably butter so it's like toasted.

It's not as good as a deep fried flour hard shell taco, which a different outfit does and I could die for, but it's pretty damn good.

Did I miss it in this thread, or are all of you folks wrong?

The correct answer is taco sald. With crunched up Doritos!!!

A metric ton of beef or venison, depending on the season.
A truck load of cheese (I prefer chedder, but most any will do)
Cubed tomatoes, light lettuce, and Taco Bell sauce (mild)... maybe
a dab of sour cream again depending on the season.

If any of you guys eat your tacos any other way, Im not saying
you are wrong, Im just saying you are incorrect

I realize there's a certain trend in tacos. I TOO enjoy the corn torts. with braised short-ribs - or whichever trendy meat and veggies.

However, I've indicated in the past on here, I prefer the simple hard-shell taco w/ seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomato and cheese + sauce. I think it's because of what I knew, growing up. I like authentic but also enjoy the American version of the classic taco.

Beef/Steak, crunchy, always crunchy! Lettuce, tomato, cheese, guac, sour cream and if I use store bought seasoning, I use Old El Paso.
