Why is Houston in coverage?

2 significant plays on 3rd down and Houston is in coverage, not rushing the passer?

ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME, SUTTON?!?!?!?!?

Not if our offense shits the bed and scores less than 20.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Given how our defense has played of late, I'm amazed we didn't give up 30. I was expecting that the Chiefs would need to win in a shootout.

You are the same piece of shit that argues for Alex Smiths WIN/LOSS record.

He got stonewalled because Pittsburgh has arguably on of the best OLs in the game and a frustratingly good RB. It doesn't help that with a beyond shitty LB corps he has to basically cover way more of the underneath than Sutton probably wants.

This was always set up to be a frustrating game for our pass rushers. Houston may not have had a great game. But he didn't have a bad one just because he didn't get to the QB.

You're wasting your time trying to explain to members of this board. As far as most are concerned, an OLB's success can be determined solely on sack totals in the box score. Similarly, DBs are judged solely based on INTs.

If the other 10 guys, specifically the other members of the front 7, had done their jobs, I'd be willing to bet Houston would have been able to make more of an impact.

How much could anyone expect of a pass rusher in a game in which the opponent averaged probably 6 YPC? They were consistently facing 3rd and shorts all game long and at that point the threat of a 3rd down run prevented us from pinning our ears back.

I was expecting a heavy dose of Maclin with them concentrating on Kelcee.

Was he in the stadium for more than 1 play?...

When we win and Alex Smith sucked, Alex Smith earned the W. When we lose and the defense plays decent, the defense earned the L. It's convenient how that works.

Didn't even care to fact check him. Like I said, my point stands regardless.

This loss was just like the two we suffered to Tennessee and Tampa Bay. The defense didn't look great but ultimately held them to a low point total and the offense just shit the bed.

Inexcusable for a veteran QB with these weapons backed by a supposed HOF coach in year 4 of the system.

Our D did exactly what it needed to.

Our offense, as a whole, did not...

I wouldn't go that far. I mean they did keep the Steelers offense on the field for like what ?? 58 of the 6O mins. in the game ?

Please tell me you are kidding. Giving up six scores and 35 minutes of possession with just a single punt has never, ever been considered good defense.

I love how many ways you dodge the simple fact that the Steelers scored less than 20 points.

As if the Steelers are the Cleveland Browns on offense.
As if yards matter more than points.
As if 35 minutes TOP is considered some insurmountable obstacle.

It was more than enough for this offense, playing with a fully stacked deck to win. The offense played so shitty that it wasn't good enough to win. That's what matters.

Yeah, you give up 18 points and you should win. You don't give up a touchdown and you should win.

But no. The team with the media stars will move on and play the other team with the media stars.

After the Chiefs opening drive TD, they had 6 drives of pure garbage. Punts, fumble or INT.

Chiefs averaged 4 plays per drive during those 6 drives which lasted from after the first drive until the late 4th Q.

The offense couldn't get any TOP going in 6 drives.
