Mahomes will probably make the playcalling a little less of an issue if he pans out to be what he looks like he can be.

But at the end of the day Reid is going to do what Reid has always done. It's why Philly fans were very glad they got rid of him. Ried is going to Reid in the postseason

At least we get them both out of the way on the same day. That's really the only saving grace here.

All considered, this offseason thus far has "turned out pretty well."

Every decision made has celebrated the status quo. I'm probably in the 85th percentile of homers on this board but the last 24hrs of developments makes me ill. *Something* needs to change.

I'm not too upset about this. I'm sure Reid will give up playcalling if he feels he is doing a bad job. He has already proven he is willing to do that.

Keep in mind there is a reason his OCs are constantly getting hired for HC positions - teams are hoping these guys learn from Reid's playcalling and offensive play designs. I would like to see us hire some type of time management guru.

Not sure why anyone is really surprised about this.

As soon as he hired Eric Bieniemy, you knew Reid was going to call plays.

Bieniemy is nothing more than a yes man for Reid.

at least those first 15 script plays from game planning during the week are going to be NASTY with Mahomes

after that Andy might get confused but those first couple drives every week are going to be beautiful.

YPC does;t matter when the opponent isn't running the ball.

Chiefs were 8th in rushing yards allowed, #11 in run defense DVOA and 3rd in rushing TDs allowed.

And they were the 6th ranked DVOA defense overall that year.

Face it, the perfect team that can carry Alex The Albatross to a Super Bowl doesn't exist.

He blew his six straight chances with top 10 defenses and now he's being condemned to NFL hell.

Yes and no - Yes - I knew Reid would call the plays once Bieniemy was promoted to OC.

No - Bieniemy is not a "yes man." I think Reid will call the plays in the beginning while Bieniemy and he work on offensive game plans. IMO, Bieniemy was hired for continuity and I believe to grow into the position and Reid's influence will be very heavy, especially at first, both good and bad...

I'm way more concerned with Reid keeping Bob Sutton. I see nothing positive in that.

That's the best environment for him.

There is a culture of winning in place. They just need a QB to take the next step in the postseason.

Players win games in the playoffs. Not coaches.
Coaches can certainly help lose games in the playoffs with dumb strategy/strategic decisions.

Having a good defense would be helpful for a first year starting QB, and keeping Bob Sutton... who just coordinated a defense that gave up 7/7 third down conversions in the second half of a game to a team that was near the bottom of the league in converting on third downs... is not consistent with having a good defense.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

This bothers me less than retaining Sutton. Still gotta execute the plays.
