The “French Army” had Napoleon!
The Chiefs got their “loss” out of the way in the regular season vs the playoffs. The Chiefs are ready for post season? All loses come against playoff teams. |

Stop the presses. This isn't previous Chiefs teams. They are not quitters and neither should we be.

Well said George! I’m mentally preparing myself to be one and done for the playoffs. So no more talking shit and beating on my chest to my coworkers lol. Mostly saints fans from where I’m at. I just give them the answer we’re not doing nothing in the playoffs with this defense. It is what it is and Reid gets a lot of the blame for bringing Bob back when the majority wanted him out and every time we lose big leads the offense sputters from being so damn conservative playing not to lose. If Bob isn’t fired immediately after the season we need to warm up the plane and fly the “Fire Bob” banner. He’s definitely killed this magical season.

I’ve waited too goddamn long for this team to draft and nurture a top end quarterback. Mahomes is everything I’ve wanted in a franchise QB and more. Nothing is going to get in the way of that now. Personally, the Chiefs have me hooked and damn them to hell because they probably know it. |

So I got up this morning specifically because I needed to read the stupendous 10 Things by Mr. Blowfish. As usual, you did not disappoint. My wife came into the computer room, and I explained to her why this site is important to me as a Chiefs fan. It's for a whole lot of reasons, but one is that we have some posters on here who are artists. George, you are a wordsmith extraordinaire, and other fan bases may have someone like you, but I'd take you over any of them. You have been there. You are the wiley grisled veteran of The Chiefs Wars. I salute you from my little computer room in Nebraska.
Now, about that damn game. You know, I've heard (I get 810 on the radio all the way up here in Nebraska) people say "Well, it was only one point, wer'e going to have a few not go our way," etc. Hell, in a way I'm one of those guys. But as has been said, we have seen this friggin' movie before...so many times...Lucy and the Football Yank is a great way of putting it. Yes, we've seen the Pats get beat, and then go on to win the SB. But we're not the Pats. We're the Chiefs. We find ways to break records of futility more than any other team in the league, I don't need to enumerate them...we all know. Until proven otherwise, this feels like that goddam movie that comes on AMC that you've seen a million times but for some reason you watch it when it comes on. Because it's what you do. These last few years, I've really toned it down. It's actually been a good experience for me. Of course, I've gotten older and that certainly has a lot to do with it, but in the 90's when we would lose, I would be ****ed up for DAYS...now, it's more like I'm pissed, but for maybe an hour. I'll think about the game, and I'll want to commiserate with other Chiefs fans, but I'm not going to live this. It is what it is. Next week, we'll beat the Seahawks, only to lose the next week to the Raiders. Why...because Chiefs. I'm actually looking forward to 10 days off from this shit. God Bless fellas!

It took me 1/2 a season to get sucked back In. Now I wish there was a way we couldn't make the play offs. I really do.

George, great write up as always and I think you are spot on with most of your views. The positive side of things for me is this. All three losses 7 total points as well as the other teams having to execute to win as well.
Against the rams I believe it was scandrick has a perfect pick come right to him that would have ended the game, all he had to do was catch a very easy pick... game over..... it was literally a catch most college DB's could make, heck it was a catch my kid could make. Didn't execute, game over. We had several chances on the last drive and a crucial 4th and long to stop them.. Game over... one play to stop them and they can't do it, very poor execution. all it would take is a receiver drop, we win, etc but they executed and we dropped the ball. Then the respect at the end by going for two because they knew they would not win in overtime so they give mahomes the ultimate respect and go for it. Again, stop them on one play and you win, and they just executed better and our defense was holding their jock. Both games were might I say easily winnable and should of been won with AVERAGE execution, not great execution but average execution. With as good as our D line is as well as outside linebackers..... Our inside, corners and safeties have to be EPICALLY bad, I don't mean bad or last this year but I mean all time worst motley crew of players all time. To be as bad as they are on D with that good a line and OLB is absolutely mind boggling. |
