Yea, it *could* work out well. That transition is easier for a basketball team than football team.
It really is quite interesting. It is weird though because success means he is moving on. But hey...that is still success right? This hire says "right now...at this second we don't want to be a joke of a program." we want to win some damn games. |

Exactly. They probably didn't want to take another chance on another Gill hire, but they aren't exactly in a great position to pick up a Mike Leach.

As much as I dislike the hire, it still beats the shit out of having Gill as our HC.

Yes it does. It's basically saying, "we want to be bigtime". I guess we have that going for us.

If Kansas doesn't improve marginally the next two years, Zenger is going to be in some hot water. I will be interested to see how much they paid him to come to Lawrence. |

It's a stop-gap hire. It's a guy they brought in with the hopes that he can make the job more respectable for their next hire. Blow me, Zeke.

My stance with any HC, whether it's Gill, Haley, and even Herm, has been that I don't want those teams to get in the habit of hiring a different HC every few years. But, 2 of the 3 I mentioned really had to go. KU FB could have 4 different coaches in a 5-7 year span, which would make it that much harder to find the next guy if Weis doesn't improve the team.
