If the Chiefs go 8-8 or better 49ers get a 2nd round pick.
A third- or second-rounder from Kansas City, the remnant of the Alex Smith deal. Now it can be told: The second draft choice San Francisco will receive from the Smith deal will be K.C.'s second-rounder in 2014 if the Chiefs go 8-8 or better this season. It will be a third-rounder in 2014 if Kansas City is under .500 this season.
So: San Francisco will probably have first-, second- and four third-rounders next year. But if the Chiefs surprise, it'll more likely be a one, two twos and three threes. As we've seen, GM Trent Baalke is dangerous with extra picks in his hands. If Colin Kaepernick is very good, the Niners should be annual contenders for years with the picks laid out that way. 33 percent
He was slightly better in the first 8 games of his career on 3rd down than Smith over the past 1.5 seasons (in years what, 7 and 8?).

We have an awesome team this year. Alex Bad Ass Smith is the man. He will be putting up numbers we havnt seen since Trent's best years. Comeback player of the year is in the bag. This trade was an absolute steal for us. |

Ewwww
Mark Sanchez had his worst season ever on third down in ’11, converting 34.74, a higher rate than Smith has ever produced. |

Pro Football Focus@PFF54m
After some interesting tweets yesterday we went away & ran some numbers. Which running back faced highest % of 8 men in the box? Pro Football Focus@PFF51m We have a winner. 42.3% of plays w/ at least 8 men in box. League average is 23.3% @MarkusEricsson: @PFF Gore? Little troubling, but it was in a totally different offense we will ahve in KC. |

And the respect! And the OL, it's going to be dominating again! Fans are going to come out in droves, and Arrowhead will be loud again! I can't wait to see what Marty can do with this team!

Dickie V had it, Herm had it, Haley had it, and ahh shit never mind In Romeo's defense though it was ***** that was in the crosshairs, not to take anything away from Romeo's ability so suck. Although according to Mac we should all bow down to the greatness that is Romeo. |

This regime is trying to win (at least 6-8) right away, which is different than the Herm and Pioli regimes (which both talked about the long-term work that was needed). And I have less patience for this band-aid approach than I would if they were talking about long-term and rebuild and etc. I've seen enough band-aid attempts in the past 20 years.
