I don't think most Cat fans who pay any attention to the off the court stuff were terribly surprised. Wally has been having a lot of personal issues. In fact, I'm sure if you asked several of us, we'd speculate this may not be the last to go either.
This team had a lot of hype placed on them, and some of them bought in to it, and their effort showed. |

Don't think there's any way KSU could afford to do it, but severing ties with Frank right now would be the best for both parties involved. Frank would be well-served to bolt, with the recruiting cupboard essentially bare, and with all the departures, that will only get worse.
Added to that, since he's curiously shelved his faux tough-guy act, it's obvious he's lost as a coach in more ways than one. KSU's rep is (was) at maybe an all-time high, and they could potentially capitalize on what's left of that now and attract a decent coach, and not let Frank take down what's left of it over the next year or two. |

I've never been a huge fan of Frank's coaching. They rarely make proper adjustments, and the team refuses to run an offense against a defense that pushes their parameter beyond the 3 point line.
I wanted to punt my TV when KSU played KU and Bradley last year. I hate watching the players stand around instead of working to set picks and or trying to move away from the ball to create offense. Street ball bullshit. |

I'm not all that surprised, really. Judge's lack of development was a main reason that KSU is in the state that they are this season. Not sure how much you can hold Frank Martin responsible for that (some kids are just uncoachable), but this certainly isn't a good sign.
