All Things Video Games & Game Reviews

Hey guys...
Thought we could use a thread to help one another out with purchasing new and used games. Now that the next gen consoles are out and the holiday season will soon be upon us, many new games are going to drop. We've been throwing 'reviews' in several different threads or making new threads for each game. I thought we might like to converge and discuss them as a whole. Whether you're on PS3, 360, PS4, XB one or even a wii, PC and Mac, this is a repository for what you're playing and how you rate it.

Let's try to do a 1-10 scale for each game. Take into account the following:

Storyline
Challenge
Replayability
Graphics
Online functionality
Downloadable content
AI/npc's
Price
Length of gameplay

You can use all or some of those as a guide to score the game. If there are other aspects you'd like to tell as about with your game, please do so. These are just suggentions.

Please note what system, (if necessary i.e. It being exclusive to a system) you're playing on and let us know what you think.

1. Sucks, I'd rather watch Brodie Croyle play as our starter. This game is dogshit.
2. Don't waste your time. It's obviously been programmed by a bunch of chimps with syphilis.
3. I'd rather eat tapioca pudding out of my grandmothers colostomy bag, then stick my tongue in her stoma.
4. Meh, there's really better stuff to do, (like waxing my pubes) but I was lazy.
5. This is kinda like purgatory. It's not the best place to be but it could be worse.
6. Not bad at all... It's like I just scored a BJ from my hot first cousin.
7. Entertaining as all hell, kinda like the feeling where you just drank enough not to puke and can still walk.
8. Buy this game, I'm super-cereal. It's got stuff that makes my nipples tingly.
9. HELL F'ing YEAH! I'd talk more about it but I'm gonna be locked in place for a week just playing this ****er.
10. This game is like godfather two and the empire strikes back joined forces to **** your face off with wow. I'm taking all of my PTO days and going on FMLA.

EDIT: We can also discuss upcoming/all things gaming in here as well.
Enjoy!

I enjoy it too. Very good looking game. Runs very smooth. I downloaded it on day one and its never crashed on me. I was surprised at that, due to its size.

I'm weird and get all my games via hard copy. It really is damn near a flawless sports game.

I just started diamond dynasty. Creating the Montreal expos. Love the logo editor. Downloaded the retro logo and created the uniforms too. Awesome.

So, I binge-played all four available episodes of Life is Strange. What an awesome game. Zero replay-ability but it's pretty cheap for 10 hrs of gameplay.
It's a lot like the telltale point and click style of gameplay. The lip-syncing is horrid but everything else is perfect.
You play as an emo 18 year old girl that's unravelling a mystery in her little town. THe twist is she recently discovered she can reverse time. It's a cool mechanic but not one you pay a shit ton of attention to after the first episode. That's a good thing seeing that the story is so great.
I never thought the game would be for me. What guy in their 30's wants to play a game about teenage girls? (Uhhhh disregard)
Anyway, like most point and clicks, all decisions have ramifications.
The game gets a bit dull midway thru but the Devs did well to get the player invested.

I can't wait for the last episode. I'm betting it's going to be pretty damn awesome.
You guys should check it out.

I played the first part of Life is Strange and got annoyed by how they kinda force you to use the time travel stuff. Later on you get a choice to change answers but it is pretty much on the nose. "If you dont change your answer, things will go very badly for you." Is that really a choice? Still has a lot of potential.

You oughta see it through. The story really twists into a ****ed up bondage S&M thing.

Oh wow, did IGN give it a bad score? That's surprising that they would go against the fray.

It's a wonderful game. Don't get me wrong man, there's gonna be some tedious parts about mid way thru but stick it out. It'll be a real pants-shitter. Awesome ****ing ending.

Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls is coming out with another huge patch next week. If you haven't played it in awhile you should give it a try, it's improved so much in the past 8 months.

The newest patch is adding "Kanai's Cube" which allows you to add 3 additional legendary properties to your character (one legendary weapon property, one legendary jewelry property, and another from armor). You have to sacrifice the item to the Cube to get access to the legendary property so make sure you don't sacrifice a really well rolled item to the Cube.

The cube also allows you to re-roll legendary weapons. So if you find a really rare weapon and it rolls with terrible stats, you can re-roll it with crafting mats over and over again until you get a better one. This is huge because you can literally play for hundreds of hours without finding one of the super rare, build defining weapons, and even if you do find one there is only a 10% chance for that item to roll 'Ancient', and if it doesn't roll ancient it's trash.

They've also added a bunch of new sets over the past couple patches and there are two or three new sets coming next week. So yeah, give Diablo 3 a shot next week if you're looking for something to play.

Are there any decent golf games for PC? Preferably not an EA title.

I used to have a blast playing Hot Shots golf on the PS2, and was wondering if there were any more recent games like that out there.

Oh I'm sure there's a few. EA probably has one or ten.

DBZ Xenoverse is pretty mediocre..loved the Budokai series on PS2 but this one just isn't cutting it. Played it a few times when I got it then never touched it since. don't recommend it at all.

Picked up The Crew last week for $24.99 at a Wal-Mart. this location always has great deals on games and honestly..I know the reviews were bad and ubisoft has been making trash for awhile now but I gotta admit.. It's pretty fun and I like the open world aspect and travelling. Clearly it could be way better but as where Drive club looks pretty and runs amazing..I don't think it's as fun as this. It's by no means anything special but I myself am not too big into racers but I actually like it.

I know the Wii U gets shit on a lot but goddamn it's an excellent compliment to my PS4 and Vita.

Mario Kart, Smash, and Splatoon are all awesome and I CANNOT wait for Super Mario Maker. That is a literal dream game for me...something I've wanted for 20+ years.

Just hope Zelda still makes it to the Wii U but I can easily see it being a NX launch game...
