Smart QB's thrive on YAC and know how to utilize their weapons...Dumb QB's try to do it themselves all the time and throw costly picks while doing so. Alex hits the open guy. And it works. It doesn't matter how far the ball travels downfield. What matters is sustaining drives, making key plays, and scoring points. Throwing the ball downfield is not the ONLY strategy that works. There are other ways to get the ball down the field including utilizing horizontal space, which is a HUGE strength of the Chiefs right now.

I don't know why or how someone could possibly campaign for taking more risks into small windows downfield when the team has put up 56, 45, 28, and 38 points in the last four weeks. Do you have any idea how dumb this sounds?

Also, these same people act like Smith can't keep succeeding with the short pass as if the defense will just creep in and make him useless, yet he keeps winning games somehow without throwing a lot of deep passes. How is this possible!?!? When will this 40+ game anomaly end!?
