Gus kicks so much ass. It will be sad when he is gone, although I'm hoping Walt will find something to hold on Gus so that they both can survive together.

You can argue that Gale wasn't an innocent, but what about Brock? Walt may have convinced Jesse with his story (that was an brilliantly acted scene, btw), but he didn't convince me. I don't think it was Gus that poisoned the kid at all, he had little motivation. I think it was Walt.
Edit: Went back to watch the scene with him spinning the gun (before inexplicably disappearing for half the episode). The gun points to a plant on the 3rd spin (that he stares long and hard at). Ricin comes from castor oil plants. I suppose we'll know soon who did it, but as I said last week, Walt is capable of pretty much anything at this point (especially when his or his family's lives are in danger). Manipulating people as pawns (particularly Jesse) is something he's become very good at. Last edited by KC_Connection; 10-03-2011 at 05:17 AM.. |

So Gus now realizes he is down two chemists, and the DEA is now snooping around. Does he pull the plug on the entire operation in the finale?

I could see the case for Walt being the poisoner, but can't see when he relieved Jesse of the ricin cigarette (not that he couldn't have made more ricin, but they made a point of Jesse not having it anymore)
I can see the case for Gus being the poisoner, but don't know how he knew about the cigarette, and what exactly the poison was unless he has Jesse's house bugged - which is entirely possible. That would make Gus the coolest customer around - traveling and working with Jesse while aware of that threat. How has Skyler not blurted out the truth yet? Has Hank got it all figured out (about Walt) and is just playing it out for the bigger prize (Gus)?

I don't think it was Walt. He'd have to be some kind of super-stealthy ninja to pull that off. This is Walt we're talking about here. Master of subtlety and subterfuge he is not. He's more of a toss a bomb down in the middle Tuco's hideout/car bomb Gus kind of guy. (Yes, I realize he created the ricin, and why, but when has he ever successfully pulled anything off....)
Although I'm not convinced it's Gus, either. That could just be paranoia on Walt's part being translated to Jesse and by extension the viewer. It it possible it was just an accident? Maybe we'll start the next episode with a flashback to the kid digging through Jesse's cigarettes, finding the cigarette in question, and then somehow ricin ensues. The whole concept of the kid being deliberately poisoned seems somewhat far-fetched to me. Culprit would have to know Jesse has the cigarette, would have to know what that cigarette contains, would have to somehow successfully poison only the kid. Seems like a lot of moving parts. Easier to just shoot him. |
