With 2 winnable games to go and wins over 2 of the top 4 teams favored to win the Superbowl all the while breaking in a rookie QB. That sounds like progress to me.

Don't forget to add that he's also competing for the most INTs this season to that progress you speak of.

On the job learning. They'll get some nice pieces to go with Geno and rape next year.

So hoping they win 2 more games is a fact? C'mon now son.

And it's funny:
6-8 is progress to you. But 11-3 isn't.

Only idiots look at Alex Smith's day yesterday and dismiss it as all screen passes, as if every other QB's stat sheet is filled with nothing but 40 yard bombs into the back of the end zone.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but even the forehead has his stats inflated by bubble screens and WR pick plays that are caught three yards from the LOS and go the distance.

Yesterday was not Alex Smith's day, however. It was Jamaal's. Sure, Alex made some good plays and I'm happy that he is athletic enough to avoid the pressure and still get the ball out to Jamaal where he isn't turned around or grabbing it at his ankles, but is ready to immediately start running.

Because, in case you forgot, our QBs haven't always done that.

Who said it wasn't progress? Sure it is, but I think everyone would agree a playoff win would be REAL progress given the last 20 years.

No progress and REAL progress. The capitalized "REAL" is a third kind of progress.
