Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. I look at it like this. The best time that I can schedule a workout is at 5:30 in the morning. My main problem is dragging my ass out of bed. If I can get up at 5:30...pound some preworkout and be working my ass off in 5-10 minutes....I'm happy.

Sometimes I'll pop a caffeine pill if I'm super tired, but usually no. I don't find them effective, and the ones with stuff besides caffeine make my heart feel weird.
