I am RealSNR. Ask me most things

And for the other things, I reserve the right to either not answer or brush them off with bullshit.

The problem is everybody and their mothers can play piano, and finding a performing/teaching career on piano is a lot tougher than other instruments. It's very competitive.

I also played violin and viola growing up and throughout college, and I enjoy occasionally performing with the local symphony. They're not anything special if they allow a schlub like me to play, but they play real stuff just as any professional orchestra would. It's a little bit of money and I really like it.

They're fellows playing cellos. Not very widely played, we found them by accident. They are currently on tour playing Metallica covers. I'm just astounded by the variety of sounds they can make with their cellos. You should check them out sometime, seriously.

JFC your people pushed them off their native lands for some worthless trinkets. Couldn’t you just cut the guy some slack and let him smoke a doobie on your car.

Is SyntheticSNR purer and more consistent than RealSNR?

Does every organ student obsess about Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor? Do they ever get it out of their system or is a piece they always keep up their sleeve?
What organ piece is just so overdone you can hardly stand playing it anymore?
Favorite classical composer? (If it is Bach, who comes in second?)
Do you find that people who play the same instrument have similar personalities? - i.e. trombonists are stubborn, violinists are haughty, etc?

Do you affiliate with Lutherans for their theology or are you mostly in it for the pipe organs?

1. SyntheticSNR is a dirty lying bitch who owes me money

2. No. That piece is actually a somewhat simple thing to play if you've had two or three years of organ lessons and you've got good keyboard chops.

3. It's good to play and know, because you'll inevitably need it one day, yes.

4. The goddamn Widor Toccata. "Play it at my wedding! Play it at Easter! Play it at Christmas! Play it at Pentecost!"

5. Erich Wolfgang Korngold. Listen to his Piano Concerto for the Left Hand. It's stunning.

6. Yes. Particularly with organists. I consider myself pretty damn socially adjusted compared to most of the bunch. I'm definitely the outlier, though.

If you found yourself in the wilderness with only the basics..clothing, a pancho, pocket knife and a 6x6 tarp and no provisions(lets say Northern Wisconsin in June)...would you be able to survive for the 3 weeks needed for the plane to find you, or would you fashion an apron from wildflowers and sing the sound of music until a bear eats you?

You're pretty educated. Do you possess basic man/outdoor skills?
