Seems like a pretty silly discussion and a lot of armchair quarterbacking... not to say it's a small task by any means, but there's so much money to be made, I don't see why anyone would care about the logistics. And if there is a legit concern for ticket sales, fan travel, etc; just have the first round games at the home team's stadium... then you're only talking about the two semi final games as far as extra neutral site games.

The BCS formula is still just a collection of polls, isn't it?

Yes, but it's augmented by a computer formula that...well...I'm not sure who runs that or how...

I just googled it, and it looks like the computers assisted third of the formula is still just a poll. There is really nothing worth complaining about. Every point that can be brought up is easily dismissed by pointing out that the people who vote on this crap can take that point into consideration when voting.

When they move to the 4-team format in 2014 there will no longer be a BCS rankings. They haven't announced/decided how it will be done but it sounds like they will have a selection committee comprising of AD's, university presidents, and some at-large members.

It's not that weird since the SEC is the biggest conf this year with 14 teams. That's an advantage right there. Plus they care about it more than everyone else and their states largely lack the nfl presence to compete for attention and dollars.
If Mizzou didn't have te Chiefs and Rams in state they would draw 80k and be respectable in the SEC. Since they do they won't. Same with Ku and KSU being hurt by the Chiefs. Would draw way better without the competition (just as ku does for hoops) |

Playing in a conference isn't going to solve anything. They beat the Pac12 champ and Big Xii co-champ and played a sched comparable w/ most any teams conf slate outside the SEC. Yes they were exposed but it isn't like their resume was completely void of credentials. |
