He's young enough that just changing his diet should prevent this in the future, but it also wouldn't hurt to chew fiber tablets. You can buy them in the orange flavor at just about any grocery store or pharmacy. And stay away from Grape Koolaid.....it has it's own fun reactions. |

He's young enough that he shouldn't have to start a daily regimen of Metamucil. Considering that young people aren't always the most diligent with taking daily supplements beyond something that will get them high, I wouldn't even suggest it as it most likely would be a waste of time. Might as well tell him to eat an apple everyday. |

And just for those wanting to know. Bowel impaction isn't just a can't poop like normal thing. It is a problem growing into obstruction. And if it can't make it out your butthole, it can work it's way back to the stomach for you to throw up a little feces out of your mouth. Exciting, huh?

O'Rourke in her last production, Poltergeist III O'Rourke became ill in early 1987 and was misdiagnosed by doctors at Kaiser Permanente Hospital as having Crohn's disease. She was prescribed cortisone to treat the disease, which reportedly caused her cheeks to appear puffy and large.[19] On January 31, 1988, O'Rourke suddenly became ill again, vomiting and unable to keep anything down. The next morning she collapsed while preparing to leave for the hospital and her stepfather called paramedics. O'Rourke suffered a cardiac arrest en route to the hospital, and after resuscitation she was airlifted by helicopter to Children's Hospital and Health Center in San Diego,[10] where she died later that day. Speaking to reporters, O'Rourke's manager David Wardlow initially announced that it was believed she died of influenza.[20][21] However, hospital spokesman Vincent Bond announced that O'Rourke died during surgery to repair an acute bowel obstruction (caused by congenital stenosis of the intestine)[22] complicated by septic shock;[9][23] this report was corroborated by the San Diego County coroner's office on February 3, two days after her death.[24] Later reports changed the specific cause of death to cardiac arrest caused by septic shock brought on by the intestinal stenosis.[22][25] Plaque marking O'Rourke's interment O'Rourke was interred at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery on February 5, 1988. Her tomb is a scheduled stop for "Haunted Hollywood" tours.[26 |

It's probably the hydrocodone. Opiates slow down or stop peristalsis in the GI tract, so you probably should look into a stimulant laxative to get it going. Usually doctors give you something if you are taking opiates long term or are post op.

This says that it usually doesn't have symptoms and if so, upper not lower abdomen, but check out this: www webmd.com/digestive-disorders/tc/gallstones-topic-overview (change the space into a .)
I got my appendix taken out and that's on the right side. I had no warning, just sudden pain. |
