Dude is straight up beasting this year.

He just set the all time record for accuracy in a 400 yard game, and there is only one other QB even close to as good as him statistically this season (Manning, duh). Manning is statistically better in every category, actually he leads the NFL in every important category, but Rivers is right behind him.

I think a lot of you were assuming 2 wins against us this year, but what I've seen from Rivers the last 4 games has me more excited than ever. He's never played this good, and he used to be considered "Elite."

I'll compare Rivers, Manning, and Brees because they seem like the 3 best QBs to compare as of now. Brady is suffering with his shitty receiving corps, or else I'd throw him in here too.

The NFL kind of screwed over the Chargers against the Broncos this year... They have to play us after our bye and then have to travel to Denver for Thursday Night Football.

You have a QB who is playing lights out. He has been and is very very good. You also have an average WR core an ageing TE who could be hurt at any second. No RB that scares any body and a defense giving up what? 25 or so a game?
We have an absolute dominating defense, two LB's beasting! A nose tackle that DEMANDS a double team every play. a solid line backing core and a defensive back field that quietly gets better every game... on offense we have a game changing Rb a wide reciever in Bowe who has not yet done what he is capable of and a QB not making mistakes. That QB is also willing to give himself up for a yard at any time(a QB who i dont really like but is proving to sacrifice his well being none the less on every down).
so sorry that im not shaking in my boots because your QB is playing up to the potential that every one has expected him to play for years.

To play devil's advocate, I don't think their WR group is aging, Gates has looked fantastic and is lighter (IIRC) and Woodhead is no fun at all with various alignments/personnel groupings.

Additionally, I'd argue that we have 3 LBs "beasting".

Gates will miss games with an injury, bank on it. The Wr core is patch work at best, and woodhead is = DMC. 3 Lb's? I guess. Hali,Houston and DJ right? In which case yeah ok I can deal with that.

Rivers has been, is and always will be an elite QB.

Now that he is teamed up with competent coaching he is back to his old form.

I expect us to split with the Chargers. At best.

I've been pessimistic about Rivers the past couple years for good reason, but the way he played against Dallas was impressive. He looked like the Rivers of old - a legitimate elite quarterback. Hopefully he can keep it up, and maybe cut down on the douchebag attitude before it helps cost us any more wins like against Tennessee.

Woodhead has been much more productive, IMO.
