Did Alex Smith remind you of Matt Cassel tonight?

7-16

62 yards (45 net)

3 sacks

3 passing first downs (1 on a screen pass)

0 completions over 8 yards.

4 punts

NO TOUCHDOWNS

NO BIG PLAYS

NO INTERMEDIATE PLAYS

I'm pretty sure they have the same father, just different mothers.

that's all I was talking about. It was good to see them stand tall after that long run by gore. That's the only thing I count. Colt McCoy, and Tolzien are terrible.

The rb was headed out of bounds on that second drop, he wouldn't of made a first down. Besides, you are going to have drops all year. It's the qb's job to offset those drops, which we obviously dont have.

Alex Smith isn't expected to offset any mistakes by his teammates. It was the same with Cassel.

How does a QB off set dropped passes for first downs?

Against last year's 32nd ranked Defense, he played very well.

You mean A first down? By completing the next pass. Already we start to see the Alexcuses of his atrocious play...against backup scrubs.

So far, we haven't seen anything to support these notions. Smith looks like the EXACT same quarterback we saw in San Francisco, and we've seen the same timidity that has hamstrung him throughout his entire career. That's bad news for the Chiefs, because he didn't bring that 49er's defense with him to KC.

I know its just the preseason, but at some point this offense is going to have to show something before I have any faith in their ability to score points in the regular season.
Andy brought Alex in to secure the ball, read defenses, and throw screen passes to Charles.

Jamaal Charles will be the Chiefs leading receiver for 2013.

Go to hell, GoChiefs.

It's obvious that your are enthusiastically rooting against the Chiefs now. You DESPERATELY want to be right. You want affirmation for your hatred of Alex Smith.

It's beyond pathetic.

The excuses will never end for those who want to continue making them.

The excuses are going be the same as we always heard. Drop passes and poor blocking. Never is it the quarterbacks fault from the true fans.
