You have to register hand guns with the police department in Omaha. Plus get a Nebraska hand gun perches permit from the sheriffs department. At least their is not a 10 day waiting period.
This is a must for Black powder hands guns as well. |

Register handguns with the popo.....**** that. In Omaha, Bwana would be an outlaw.

It amazes me why ex military go through extra checks. I never knew that until a buddy and I were both picking up the same .45's through a FFL transfer. My bud, who has never served was Ok'ed in just a few minutes. I on the other hand took more time. I asked the guy doing the transfer jokingly if they had something on me. He just laughed and said you are ex military and they have to transfer me to a supervisor for your check. Really kind of pisses me off.

I have had my ccw for close to two years now. I don't carry on me but wanted it so I can keep my pistol in my truck without having a problem if I would get pulled over. I hope to never be in a situation where I would need it of course I would have to go somewhere besides home and work for that.
I think everyone should carry except the idiots it could really cut down on people being victims if they carried. Just my .02

I guess I could see it for guys that served during times of war, who were actually deploy to combat zones to make sure they are alright upstairs. During my time in I never saw any combat, 83-87, and I never have had any issues with the law, not even a speeding ticket. Oh well, I always pass through the checks it just seems a bit strange that people who serve end up with extra scrutiny while purchasing a firearm.
