This, by a large margin, is the best way to explain to a True Fan, or anyone else, why trading for Alex Smith is such a crappy idea. Kudos and Rep to you sir!! |

I agree with you in that I'm trying to look at the positives in this. I was not enamored by the trade. I never thought much of Smith. However, if Smith can come in here and be the next version of Joe Montana (Chiefs version) or Trent Green I think we will all forget about our disappointment in this trade. I'm hoping the last 2 years' version of Alex Smith was not a fluke and will continue with good coaching by Reid. If not, well then everyone can say they were right. Ugghh.
I'm also going to be pissed if Geno Smith goes on to be a great NFL QB. And it will be especially painful if he does that for a team like the Raiders.

I'm not yelling at you Lzen......
But Alex Smith is not Trent Green. Even if Alex Smith's last two years weren't a fluke....they were AVERAGE at best. Matt Cassel had a better season in 2010 than Alex Smith HAS EVER HAD. |

I'm tired of people acting like Trent was some great QB. He was serviceable. He wasn't a franchise QB and he was never going to be 'great'.

1. We'll get ****ing destroyed by actual teams (see Broncos, Ravens, Patriots or Texans) 2. Alex Smith will get a contract extension (if he hasn't already by then). |

He also wasn't the reason we won games. Willie Roaf, Will Shields, Priest Holmes (and in 2003 Dante Hall) were the reason.

I'm not scared, but you do need some type of back up plan.
Yes I am, I live and breath the Chiefs, I take the good and the bad.
