I've seen a few funnel clouds in 23 years. Used to chase them in high school like the smart kids we were. Got one that nailed Sedalia on video, chased that bastard from Clinton to Tipton coming back from a weekend in KC.

As far a tornado touching down in the City in the last 15 years seen maybe 5-6 funnels although year before last one missed the house by half a mile. That was the one MTG#10 alluded to that hit Battlefield and went south of us. Something you live with and adjust to when you live in this area. Still not as bad as it was when I lived in OK for 5 years. Loved to watch the storms roll in until they actually got you then hold on.

Actually it was very beautiful to watch a storm roll in on the plains. Could for miles and see it roll in and watch the lightning show. And unless you live in Skiatook, OK (talk about tornado magnet) .... When I lived in Bartlesville I swear Skiatook or Owasso seem to get hit every other week. I wonder if this is still the case? Skip care to verify?

Thats interesting. I only say that because I was watching that show "Storm Chasers" and they kinda make it look like there is a tornado here there and everywhere.

What a crazy night! I stay ed up until about 1:00, until I felt it was safe to go to bed. Around 2:00 my bro-in-law called to say he was getting flooded and asked for help. A normal 5 minute drive took us about 30 minutes to find a way around the flood waters. Fortunately, by then, the waters had started to recede. We went ahead and loaded up the 4 wheeler and Lawn tractor, shut off the breaker and gas, and he left for the night. The waters didn't get up again, and never actually got into the house, so all is well for our family. I heard of some wind damage to some barns, and I know of 2 cows that drowned and were pulled out today, but other than that, I think this area came out alright.

KTTS reported a tornado touched down them went back into the sky on the next road over in my sub division. We didn't see or hear anything, but then again, we were looking on the back porch, and it was on the other side. A few funnel clouds were reported on the road and sister sub division by us, but we didn't see anything. I'm on the city limit of Willard and Springfield.
