Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Not sure how you can blame the strength and conditioning coach when two rookies go down. He probably hasn't had much time to even work with them. Most rookies will work on their own until they actually sign.
Oh he's going to play all right. And he's probably going to have to play his way in condition. He most likely will not start for a few games but he will start when he's ready. Croyle's life depends on it.

If we are rebuilding how can we throw Croyle out there with no OL or WR help and determine if he is the man?

According to the Peter King Favre MMQB we are over $30m under the cap. It would make sense to me to sign some free agents or journeyman as depth to help Croyle to see what he can do with some talent while we build around him.

We saw what he did last year with no talent. How can he blossom this year with less support?

This is bad luck that 2 # 1's go down in tc.

It is also bad luck that we have been the lowest team on the list as far as cap room goes for years. It is also bad luck that when the new leadership of the team doesn't clean house to rebuild.

More bad luck? We didn't spend some of that extra cap room on one of the 10 (or 5) best defensive players that was already on our roster. Allen is young. The Vikes mitigated their risk with a behavior clause. Why didn't we do that?

I recently saw a post asking wher to buy LH patches. LH was a maverick and was great when focused. After he merged the AFL and won the SB he lost interest in the Chiefs and used them as cash cow to fund the next great thing. Soccer in America (thanks for tearing up the field.)

If Clark was a legitimate succesful owner he would have taken the bull by the horns long before the team was handed to him. If wasn't afforded the opprtunity, he would have made sweeping changes when he took over (Jerry Jones like in canning Landry) and put his man in charge and sending Peterson to the curb.

It could be worse. We could be Niner fans who have a kid who graduated from Notre Dame a few years ago running our team.
