Entire offense is a mess ...

... from top to bottom and is becoming a real concern.

Play calling is predictable and isn't helping anyone. Must get receivers the ball moving forward instead of standing still. Can't have every route within 10 yards of LOS.

Alex Smith seems to be getting worse. Not only does he not try to make the difficult throw but now he is missing on the easy ones.

Olinemen take turns getting beaten or making penalties

WRs don't win even the 1-on-1 battles with any consistency and still drop too many balls. WRs often run their route and then just stand there until play is over.

Even Jamaal Charles has been making mistakes. Missed blocking assignments, dropped passes, failing to stay in bounds at the end of multiple games.

Pure garbage at WR

Decent running game...

Todays game was a classic Marty game. Play great defense, let the Raiders implode...

This is what the Chiefs were know for in the 90's, Well this and playoff failures...
This offense overall reminds me of NOTHING like what Marty had in his last great season as a coach here. Just sayin'.

I do have to agree.

The only time this offense consistently produces is out of the I formation with Charles and play action.

Tell that to the 2012 Ravens.

They fired their OC in December, reshuffled their O-line and won the Bowl.

What you know about the NFL would fiit in your peehole, with room to spare.

You just know Reid isn't happy with this offensive production, being the offensive guy he is.

For the first time in a long time, I'm actually confident that this coaching staff and personnel will get it figured out.

So how does KC improve the line with the personnel available?

And would the offense be better suited with Pederson or Chilly calling plays?

They have to work with what they have. It's a new system and I don't think the new rules regarding practices helps teams in that situation. Plus I think our line is hurting for a LG and C.

Getting Fasano back would help a lot, imo.

I don't know if Alex will get consistently better until we can consistently make a statement with the running game and are committed to it. Its like they never let Charles get in a rhythm when the guy was averaging 6 yards a carry lol before this year. Let him get in a rhythm and hell start to break longer runs I believe.

Coaches seem to have no confidence in Charles to carry this team on his back by running the ball. I know the lines not great but Charles is that good, and he sneaks through spaces like few running backs can. Id rather go 3 and out running with charles a bunch of times early on than relying on alex and the wr core. But we know Andy probaly won't do that but it would be nice.

Also Alex is timid to throw and I think depending on where we are on the field he shouldn't be worried about that. Id tell him to take the risk and trust this defense to stop their offense. You watch other qb's in the league,I watched the saints, patriots, redskins and cowboys and a lot of the pases aren't all that accurate the just trust their recievers to make the play and a lot of times they do. And a lot of times bad things happen where they are lucky to not be intercepted.

But I think Alex at this point has to know where on the field to play smart and where he can take chances down field. I don't trust our recievers ability to make plays on the ball all that much and apparently Smith doesn't either. But if u don't take chances down field how can you gain that trust? I think the lack of trust is hurting them,Alex seems to think every DB in the league has the ability to make a better play on the ball then our recievers lol.

DB's APPEAR to have guys covered all over the league, all the time. But that doesn't mean they have the ability to deflect the pass,or that they have the ability to blanket somebody and look back to even see the pass coming. Alex treats every DB in the league as if they are Revis,Woodson,or Deion Sanders.

And who knows, maybe our pass defense is playing so well against him in practice its in his head all defenses can make thos big plays lol. Maybe our own defense has him scared shitless out there on Sunday lol. Last two weeks have been bad

I swear people keep moving the goal posts, no pun intended. When Smith was hitting guys in stride on short passes for huge YAC it was all about "he hasn't thrown a pass over 10 yards" and bla bla bla.

All the Smith hate is based on looking at the numbers. If you want to talk about how games play out...they play out with him not putting us in a hole and then coming through in the clutch. I mean for reals, people need to make up their minds already.
OMG dude, show me where I sayy anything about Alex Smith in that post you dumbass mother****er.

That is about the inconsistency of the offense and it's ability to sustain drives.

Sustaining drives is more than simply moving the chains a couple of times before punting.

And this problem is far more the resultof Andy Reid's play calling than anything Alex Smith is doing.

But you go on and defend Alex Smith against phantom attacks.

Yeah Petegz, but the difference in it for me is the eye test. A lot of weeks, I could look at the game and see Alex Smith and see what he was thinking. But there were throws, two in particular to Charles, that were just so pitiful and we are talking 5 yard passes at max, and he gave Charles no chance on them.

It really was just an awful awful performance. And I don't look at numbers. I have never harped on numbers with Alex Smith. But today, was shitty. yes, they won, and they can continue to win with minimal turnovers, and with the defense. But, at some point, they are going to have to be able to rely on Alex Smith and the offense in something other than the 4th quarter.

I don't consider anyone being "frustrated" with the way the offense played today as a negative. To be 6-0 is great, but what people are starting to understand is that a first round loss in the playoffs, is going to be a waste of a season. This is a super bowl caliber TEAM. But, for it to be that, the offense has to find an identity. It seems that it has a personality disorder for the most of the game. Then in the 4th quarter it takes meds, and looks like an NFL offense.

There is still a lot of "thinking" going on, I'm sure. This isn't a system that they have been running for a few years. Going to take time to gel. Just needs to happen sooner rather than later.

You'll get no arguments out of me about today. Today he was shit. I think Oakland got into his head early.

If people cry about a 1st round loss in a season many thought we wouldn't win more than 7 or 8 games then they can go in the corner and cry.
